House sitting gig in Werribee.
Located equal distance between Melbourne and Geelong, Werribee is a great launching place to explore the bustling city, cruisy coast or take time out with nature. Wander through the historic Werribee Mansion, go on a safari adventure at Werribee Zoo, visit Shadowfax Winery, step back in time with old school fish and chips at Werribee South Beach or take in the sights of K-Road Cliffs. All are within a 15 minute drive.
Going a little further will see you hiking in the You Yangs, Werribee Gorge, Lerderderg State Park and the Brisbane Ranges - all great for reconnecting with nature.
Our family home is located within a few minutes walk of the Werribee river - terrific for nature lovers, bird watchers and cyclists. A 5 minute drive will see you in Werribee town centre with access to the Metro Trains suburban rail network, cafes and supermarkets.
Included is the company of our 2 beloved pupskies - Bailey, a sprightly, slightly senior Schnoodle who enjoys walks and LOVES food. Wilson (our rescue pupski), an exuberant but friendly Border Collie who enjoys learning and performing tricks. Both enjoy settling in for couch cuddles in the evening. We also have 3 feathered friends - a Belgian D'uccle, Cream Leg Bar, and Australorp chicken.
Our chickens are fairly low maintenance and have a secure space in the yard. They would need to be fed, watered and secured at night to ensure safety from foxes. We would also appreciate sitters removing litter from the chook house (a quick daily dustpan).
We have a low maintenance garden and a mid size lawn that may require a mow.
Our ideal house sitter will be experienced with dogs, particularly those that require a little extra understanding. Someone with references, recent police checks etc who could meet up beforehand to ensure that all parties - feathered, furred and human will enjoy each other's company.
