Aussie House Sitters

The largest pet & house sitting site in Australia

About Us

Aussie House Sitters launched in 2004 with a simple philosophy, to keep pets happy in their own homes while their owners are away. Since then we’ve grown into Australia’s largest and most trusted house and pet sitting site. Every day we connect homeowners with kindhearted house sitters who care for their home, pets and garden in exchange for free accommodation. The pets are happy, the home is secure and the sitters live rent-free. It’s a win-win for everyone!

Our Aussie House Sitters team shares the values of respect and trust while promoting friendly connections between the amazing members of our house sitting community. With a common vision of helping our pet loving community travel and save money, each member of the Aussie team brings something unique to make that vision a reality for all our members.

Meet The Team!

Nick Fuad

Founder & Managing Director

Aussie House Sitters has been a long passionate journey for me. Back in 2004 we saw the need for a simple but effective way for home owners and house sitters to connect with each other. Over this time, with the help of a fantastic team, I believe we’ve managed to create a pretty good house sitting platform (if I don’t say so myself). It’s real credit to all our wonderful members from past and present (and our impressive team) that Aussie House Sitters has become Australia’s largest and most used house and pet sitting platform.

As an avid traveller knowing our four pets are cared for by warm hearted house sitters is such a blessing.

Kylie Fuad
P.R. Manager

In my role as P.R. Manager at Aussie House Sitters I am very happy to spread the word about the many benefits of house sitting. After six years living in the Northern Territory, I developed a love for traveling around the more remote areas of Australia. Being a house and pet sitter is the perfect way to get escape the beaten track and experience living ‘like a local’ around Australia.

As the proud owner of three crazy cats and one very cute puppy, I love knowing that pets can happily stay at home so pet owners can enjoy some travel adventures of their own too.

Elyse Dallinger

Administration Manager/Customer Service Manager

After thirteen years in the University sector, I joined the Aussie House Sitters team in 2016 to whip the day to day office operations into shape. As Administration Manager/Customer Service Manager, I get to work with a fantastic team of people leading them into the world of spreadsheets and strategic planning! Outside of the day-to-day operations of the business, I also get to provide support to our fabulous community of home owners and house sitters.

Being the proud mother of two talkative and affectionate cats, I love knowing that other people’s pets are being cared for in their own home when they are away.

Gabby Watson
Social Media Manager/ Administration Officer

As Social Media Manager at Aussie House sitters I form part of the Marketing team in promoting the benefits of house sitting to the world. I feel honoured to share the experiences of our friendly community and aim to inspire others to discover their own travel freedom. In my other role as part of the admin team, I manage communications with our members to help homeowners and sitters enjoy the most from their membership.

Travelling is my obsession and I love helping our community of like-minded travellers and pet lovers explore new opportunities. With 2 cats, 2 chooks and 1 very large goat, I understand just how important it is to go away knowing your pets are safe and happy at home.

Kathy Coghlan-McLean
Administration Officer

I am very happy to be a part of the Aussie House Sitters admin team, helping our members make the most of their membership and their house sitting experiences. I am pleased to be able to contribute to the sharing community by answering queries and reviewing new house sitting ads (though I am constantly tempted…).

I love to travel and spent many years seeing the world before settling down and having children. More recently my travels have been limited to visiting my in-laws in the remote central north of Canada - a beautiful place though, so no complaints here!

Jeff Poole
Administration Officer

Over the years I’ve run record stores (remember them?) in London and Sydney and spent almost twenty years as a ‘Professional Greenie’ with conservation councils in NSW and Queensland.

These days I’m helping to regenerate a riparian rainforest with careful oversight from Lady Claris - seen on my arm in the picture - and helping house sitters and homeowners to get the best out of our site.

Ryan Hoppitt
Programming / Strategy

Working with the Aussie House Sitters team over the past 5 years has been a challenging and rewarding experience, both personally and professionally as the technical director in our company, Morgan & Hoppitt. They are responsive to comments and suggestions from the member community, and this creates a constant stream of upgrades to the websites, from small UX fixes to complete site overhauls. The challenge to constantly improve both the feature set and the user interfaces is satisfying, knowing that the work is helping create great member experiences.

Leesa Campbell                                                                                       Accounts Manager

I’m lucky enough to work with the Aussie House Sitters team as their ‘virtual’ bookkeeper/accountant. The Aussie House Sitters team are lovely to work with, always have another new idea on the go and possess an admirable appetite for continued improvement and development of their services.

I have travelled extensively and grew up on a farm and understand the complexities of leaving pets and a home, and how important it is to have a break away knowing that everything back home is under control. What a fantastic service Aussie House Sitters is – putting people together who value the experience of travelling with those who provide the loving care for what is temporarily left behind.
