We need a house sitter

Melbourne - North

Michael

Located an hour north of Melbourne CBD, this beautiful property is located on the edge of the Kilmore Plateau with expansive views across the Kilmore Gap and Macedon Ranges. The property is equidistant (7km) to both Wallan and Kilmore.

Situated on 15 acres, the property has access to a significant bush block of 30 acres supporting a fantastic bird and wildlife population. We have two beautiful, well trained and behaved Staffies, Nova, a senior dog of 13 years and Guss aged 10 years.
Anyone knowing staffies knows of their warm friendly and loving nature. These two are no exception and are well trained and behaved. They will require walking (Nova only a short walk or two each day) and a couple of feeds a day. There may be chooks in the pen at this time that need feed and watering.

The house is a solid 3 bedroom residence (built 1985) in immaculate condition with wood and reverse cycle heating, gas hobb and electric oven. Set amongst lush lawns and gardens, some watering of smaller garden beds is required and possibly lawn mowing around the house and driveway (tractor mower provided). This will be dependent on weather and spring growth. The gardens are at their absolute best during Oct-Nov. Broader areas including house paddocks and firebreaks will not require any attention across the sitting period.

Expectations of the house sitters revolve around presence at the house during our absence, maintaining house gardens and caring for our two much loved Staffies.

I would prefer sitters that are retired or working from home and have no pets with them (with over 70 species of birds in the gardens, I am hesitant to allow a cat amongst my beautiful wrens, scrub wrens and fantails).

A vehicle is essential. Train time to Melbourne CBD is approximately 50 minutes departing Wallan Station hourly. The station is a 10 minute drive from the house.
