We need a house sitter

Melbourne - Yarra-Dandenong Ranges

Joanne

Hi, we have a lovely home in the Dandenong Ranges, and beautiful views of the Cardinia Reservoir.
We have a choc lab aged 6 who’s very friendly and easy going but steals food and tissues and needs careful carers who don’t leave any food around for him to be tempted by. He will rummage in handbags and has been to the vet several times for eating things he shouldn’t. He is like a shark and lightning fast at grabbing food.
Our other dog Loki, aged 5 is a 3 legged rescue and has some anxiety around new people but is very loving and gentle once he gets to know you. They are house trained but you’ll need to scoop the poop outdoors each day to keep things clean and tidy. They have a small area at the back which is secure and easy to maintain.
Both are very good with other dogs but Ted is a serial humper so we put him on his lead when he’s around other dogs on a walk. They are both indoor spoilt dogs and sleep in the bedroom with us. They eat twice a day and are walked once a day at the local disused golf course a short drive away. Loki has to be lifted out of the car but can jump in easily. He is very agile on a walk and has good recall. Ted less so but will stay close for treats.
Our cat Charlie is very friendly, never scratches and also lives mostly indoors, He is fed often, he costs more than the dogs to feed! We have a tropical fish tank that only needs the light changing twice a day and food at the same time usually. They won’t need cleaning out.
We have three chickens that live by the side of the house. They are locked in their enclosure with a bolted mesh gate overnight. They go to bed about 6pm and are let out into their area around 7-8am. We feed them twice a day and they have treats and scraps too.
We are walking distance to town and ten mins from Belgrave train station by car. It’s 50 mins into the CBD by car or train.
It’s very dark here at night, no street lights, and very quiet. We have kangaroos in the paddock opposite and possums who come to our garden nightly. It’s a beautiful spot.
We have a self contained floor of the house which we used to air BnB so you could arrive earlier than the start date and/or stay longer than the finish date if needed.
