We have a beautiful large 4 bedroom home on 35 acres 50 minutes out of Mackay, QLD. We need a responsible caring person or couple to look after all our animals while we are away on holidays. Cats are inside 24/7, Our three house dogs are outside but do come inside at times, two of them sleep inside in a crate, one outside. Two other dogs are farm dogs to protect the livestock and they live in the paddock with the farm animals.
Your duties are to feed the farm animals and cats twice a day, the “house” dogs and farm dogs once a day. Keep our home clean and tidy and give love to our animals. Feeding animals takes about 30-45 minutes twice a day depending on your speed and how much time you spend patting and cuddling the farm animals :-)
Our neighbours are far enough away for peace and quiet but close enough if you require any help.
We are on septic tank and rain water. So at this time of the year we need to be water wise and sensible as it is our dry season and water is precious. Nothing is to be flushed down any drain or sink or toilet that should not be.
There will be plenty of food left behind for animals and humans alike.
We have Wi-Fi, Netflix and Stan. We are surrounded by beautiful areas for exploring. There is no public transport, however for the right person and if need be, there may be a car available.
We have used Workawayer’s for over 7 years, to assist on the farm so I can provide plenty of feedbacks from them.
