Wights Mountain QLD

We are going on holiday from Thursday 30 May 2024 until Monday 10 June 2024 (inclusive) and are looking for someone to pet and house sit for us while we are away. We have two house cats, three chickens and three alpacas. You will need to love animals and have experience caring for farm-type animals.

We have a newly-renovated 4 bedroom home on a 5-acre property in Samford, North West of Brisbane. There is an outdoor entertaining area, pool and deck with a beautiful outlook over the property. We have air conditioning and Wi-Fi / Netflix.

House / pet sitting requirements will be to feed our two cats and clean their trays, provide food and water for our three chickens, occasionally clear out poop from the chicken coop, and take care of the alpacas (food, water and collecting poo). Our cats like to receive attention so an occasional brush or playtime would be appreciated, There is no cleaning required as we have a cleaner that visits once every two weeks. You are more than welcome to eat any eggs laid by the chickens during your stay.

Please note that the chickens and alpacas live at the bottom of a steep hill accessed via a set of stairs, so this property is not suitable for people with mobility issues.

We are located 10 minutes from Samford Village so you will need a car. There are shops and restaurants in the village and larger shopping centres located further away. Nearest train station is Ferny Grove (15 minutes away) that has regular services into Brisbane city centre. You can drive to the city in about 35 minutes out of rush hour. We are also located near beautiful Mount Glorious / Mount Nebo and there are plenty of walking / hiking / biking trails nearby.
