Hi looking for a family or couple to look after our house and pets whilst we are away. We have a high set house on 200 acres, but it's just a hobby farm. We have 2 dogs, 3 cows, chooks and guinea fowl (all very quiet) that will need someone to love and look after them . No heavy farm work but some rural experience would be an advantage if you need to fix fences and handle cattle, probably won't need to though. Come and enjoy the peace and quiet of country life. Closest town, Bororen is 15kms has local shop, post office, service station, produce and hotel. Major facilities are approx. 35kms drive, Tannum Sands/Boyne Island. Great fishing areas close by. Plenty of flat ground if you have a van/motor home or you are more than welcome to stay in the house. We would allow a small pet so long as it is quiet and no chance of chasing the chooks. Prefer non smoker.

This house and the surrounding land where well looked after with heaps of room for children to explore and have fun including a trampoline and pool. Some interesting places close by including the beach, Awoonga Dam, Tannum Sands and Gladstone. On a quiet road with brilliant stars at night and a large firepit.
We had a wonderful time sitting at Cathy and Bruce's beautiful property. Lily and Toby are beautiful dogs and we all grew very attached to them during our stay. My kids really enjoyed the pool and walking around their lovely paddock. The cows, chooks and guinea fowl were all very easy to care for. Cathy and Bruce were great hosts and very accommodating. Thanks heaps for having us to look after your furkids!
We felt so at home here and enjoyed looking after and getting to know Lilly, Toby, Jasper and all the gorgeous hens and Guinea Fowl. We loved how the dogs took us on the various paths Bruce has established through the forested 200 acres. And sitting out in the garden with Jasper and the dogs, with the hens and Guinea Fowl wandering the grounds. We loved looking after all of the animals at Cathy & Bruce's - especially the cows as we've never looked after them before. Lily and Toby were lovely dogs who gave us lots of cuddles and Jasper the cat is a cute little boy who kept us very entertained! The property was so relaxing - we felt very rejuvenated when we left.
Communication from Cathy and Bruce was excellent. We found them both very welcoming and kind to our family.

I really enjoyed housesitting for Bruce and Cathy, fantastic animals, house was very comfortable, location was great and Cathy and Bruce were so friendly and accommodating. A rewarding experience and look forward to keeping in touch with them.

We had a great time taking care of the cows and chickens. The dogs and cats were very enjoyable and friendly. Rick still misses Spike. Hope to see you again.
We did a short sit for Bruce and Cathy after their prearranged sitter had to cancel. Initial communication was excellent and was the same for the entire sit. On arrival we were greeted warmly and shown around and everything was well explained with a written sheet of emergency contacts etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of the property and the 3 dogs, 2 cats and even the chooks were friendly and easy to look after. We had the good fortune to be chosen by Cathy and Bruce to look after their animals and property for two weeks while they were overseas.
They offered us the choice of staying in the guestroom or in our van, and we spent our days in the house and slept in our own bed.
All the animals were friendly and easy care. The dogs and cats were affectionate and accepted our old dog as part of their family, and the cows, chooks and guinea fowl were no problem.
