Lowood QLD

We are looking for someone to mind our pets in our home while we are away from 15th June to 11th July 2024. There is an option to stay a few days either side of these dates if needed.
We are located within walking distance (15-20min) to the centre of Lowood, where there is a pub, cafes, supermarket, newsagent, butcher, bakery, parks and walking trails (Brisbane Valley Rail Trail goes through the town). We are close to the Warrego Hwy to take you to Brisbane or Toowoomba. There are many small rural townships and points of interest nearby to explore also. Closest major shopping centres are in Ipswich (30-40min drive). There is no public transport in the area.
Pets include Barney, a 2 year old Bull Arab x (a large dog). He is very friendly with all basic obedience training. He is used to someone being home more often than not, but can be left for several hours, and even a full day here and there without an issue, but we do not leave him alone overnight (going out for dinner or something is fine). He only needs walks a few times a week but enjoys other games etc also - he is quite low maintenance. We also have George the cockatiel who is 7 years old and requires some attention as he is quite a social bird. He requires some time out of his cage each day in the house for flight and enrichment, but Barney must be outside when this happens (we've tried... Barney just wants to catch George and "play". We don't think this will end well). Otherwise he just needs his food and water attended to and cage cleaned. We also have a 22 year old Coastal Carpet Python. Unless you are comfortable in handling snakes, you do not need to do anything with her except keep an eye on her. She is in a secure enclosure which will be cleaned and water provided, and she will be fed before we go.
Our home has two bedrooms with an office. You will have access to the guest bedroom and the entire house, except the master bedroom. If you work from home you are welcome to use the office. We have a good size yard - we will ask that the yard be mowed if needed, although over the timeframe in winter this might be only once. We will do it before we go. I have a fair few house plants that will need watering every 7-10 days. We have reverse cycle air conditioning throughout the home and a wood fireplace. We also have a spa that you are welcome to use and will be given instructions on use and maintenance (very easy).
Otherwise we just ask you keep the place secure, clean and tidy. We will provide all food and other consumables for the maintenance of the pets and home, and full written instructions and guides as well as necessary contact details etc to sitters.
