Hi
We are Wendy and Rob McDonald. A married couple of 38 years and also lucky enough to be semi-retired and enjoying the opportunities to travel and see many new and exciting places here in Australia and Overseas. We started experiencing house and pet sitting for people on residential and small rural properties after 6 months traveling to Australia in 2018. We started in a caravan and then after selling the caravan in North Queensland we started heading home (long story, but caravanning is not for everyone).
We found there was an opportunity for us to continue our travels and we got to experience looking after some amazing homes and definitely a variety of very much loved pets and farm animals.
As home and pet sitters, we loved the opportunity to meet the homeowners personally prior to looking after their homes if we were able to and especially their pets, and learn their daily routines and if they required a special diet or daily medications. It also gave the homeowners an opportunity to meet us, and share some of the nearby attractions to explore and visit in their communities, as we slowly headed back towards Western Australia and eventually home.
We found that we really enjoyed the housesitting experiences, from the daily walks to collecting the eggs, hand feeding the farm animals when required, and on one occasion bottle feeding a one-week-old baby lamb every few hours, who needless to say we became very attached to. We have so many fond memories house sitting and the opportunity to look after the home owner’s homes and definitely the home owner’s pets/animals each with their own special personality. We were lucky enough to look after a small hobby farm where we cared for 4 adult dogs, 1 puppy, 1 cat, 3 horses, and a Galah. Feed and walk time became fun and was definitely an experience in itself.
We have our own beautiful home in Mandurah, Western Australia, and have two golden retrievers Hamish 6 years and Gracie 3 years who are our very spoilt and much-loved fur babies. Because they are our fur babies we would prefer housesits where we are able to bring them along but if we are not able to bring them we have a daughter who may be able to sit for us from time to time.
We are both non-smokers and are reasonably fit. I am still working as a casual nurse and my husband is a retired emergency response officer also with a mechanical fitting and maintenance background. We love animals and enjoy meeting new people and seeing new places. Rob and I both love to walk and enjoy spending time outdoors exploring coastal and picturesque scenery.
We are a house-proud and responsible couple, who don't mind the occasional dog or cat on the bed (if required). As Golden Retriever owners we are used to hair, drool, and mess that animals can make but we look to animals as part of the family rather than pets.

Having had house sitters in our home before we understand that it can be a scary task but we ensure you, your pets are in the best possible care with two crazy animal lovers such as ourselves.
