Hello lovely pet owners,
I'm Laura, a digital nomad from Germany who will be visiting friends and family in Melbourne between May and August.
Currently, I am just across the pond in Bali and my travel plans to come to Melbs are set.
Might also do a cheeky trip to Sydney, if a sit aligns :)
I have lived and worked in Australia for 4 years from 2019-2023. Now, I am working as a freelance copywriter from my laptop. That means, I will be home with your animals a lot, which I have found to be so great for both them and me. No one is alone and everyone gets company and cuddles :)
I will treat your home like my own, and I am happy to look after your animals, plants, take out the trash, and bring in the mail, while you are off exploring elsewhere :)
During past house sits, I have had the occasional friend over for a home cooked dinner or a coffee, just like I would in my home as well.
Please let me know if this is a hard no for you, because then we might not be a great match anyway :D

We were lucky to have Laura house sit for us on 2 separate occasions and couldn't recommend her more. We have a lot of pets and she cared for them and the house beautifully. She also baked goodies for us on our return. Not sure I should mention that in case it sets a precedent for further house sits :-)

Laura looked after our two dachshunds extremely well. They seemed happy and the house was left immaculately. Thank you for taking so much care. It was definitely appreciated.
Laura was absolutely amazing! When we first met her we knew she was the perfect fit. She is super easy going and great communicator. We came home to a clean house/ sheets and towels washed, we had nothing to worry about. I hope she is in town next time. I'd love for her to housesit again :)

We couldn't have asked for a better housesitter for our two large dogs. Laura was exceptional, taking care of both of them, especially Boof who is a special needs older boy. As soon as we met Laura, we knew that she was the sort of person you could trust with anything -- capable, friendly and respectful. And our greyhound Dave loved her immediately! We enjoyed Laura's photo updates throughout our trip, and coming home to washed sheets and towels was especially thoughtful. Laura is a kind and genuine housesitter who we'd recommend to anyone -- we're just sad she's not permanently in Melbourne because we think she'd be an excellent friend too!
Laura recently spent a week at our house, minding our dog Larry while we were interstate. Laura was trustworthy and communicated with us regularly. Larry was walked daily, had plenty of cuddles and even some beach trips (I don't think he wanted us to come home!). When we returned, the house was cleaner than when we left it and Laura had even left us a banana cake! It was so nice being away and not having to worry about the house or Larry, knowing they were in good hands. Thank you so much ... MORE
