Early 50s, Writer - Historian - Teacher

I am a very experienced house sitter who loves the experience of house sitting and the company and personalities of pets, particularly cats and dogs. Throughout 2016 and 2017, while studying post-graduate history to transition to a career as an historian, I did house sitting in NSW. I then house sat while undertaking further study in Adelaide.
Now working towards my PhD, between studying periods I enjoy going on long walks in both country and city areas.
As a home owner and former pet-parent, I know how important it has always been for me to find the right sitters for my own home and pets when I am away.
I have experience caring for cats, dogs, birds, chickens fish, and only take on house sits that I know are within my capabilities.
I am honest, reliable, responsible, thorough and very security-conscious. I am a non-smoker, and have very clean and tidy habits. I have a Working With Children Check, and until recently held Victorian Teacher Registration which includes a full Police Check.
I have excellent references from people for whom I have house-sat and pet-sat.
I always look forward to house sitting; it is one of the best experiences!

No rating Catherine was absolutely wonderful. It was very comforting to go away for 5 weeks and know that my dogs and my home were in such caring hands. Catherine sent me lovely messages throughout the time as to what was happening and how my dogs were faring. I cannot give her enough praise and endorse her with 100% confidence . I came home and she had even bought me some beautiful flowers! I will certainly use her again for my next trip.

Thanks Catherine for taking great care of our fur babies. I am sure Dudley and Dolly were a handful 😂. Everything was looked after and exactly as we left it on our return home. Catherine is an easygoing person and we really enjoyed her photos of our babies while we were away.

Henry, the cat, was very happy with Catherine's care as he was obviously calm and relaxed as usual. Catherine was the best possible house sitter. She looked after the house, garden and cat so well and every thing was in perfect condition when I came home. It was a tough time with fires, smoke and heat at the time but she cheerfully managed it all. I particularly appreciated her frequent updates on the cat and garden at the time. Henry the cat was clearly very happy with his new friend. If she's available, I'd jump at the chance to have her back.

Extremely happy with Catherine, she kept our house very clean and took great care of our elderly dog Molly who was very happy and relaxed on our return home. Catherine has a very loving way with animals which means a lot to us. We would highly recommend Catherine to others. And to top it of. there was a lovely gift sitting on the kitchen bench. Catherine was absolutely a delight. While we were away we received updates and photos on how the dogs and cats were and what adventures they had been up to. She was prompt in all communications and polite. We returned home to find the house cleaner then we had left it and a small thankyou gift. Thank you again. It was reassuring for me that Catherine responded promptly to emails and text messages, especially in the period before she came to house sit when I was trying to finalise arrangements. Her warm personality and 'can do' attitude made her a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend Catherine as a house sitter.
