Sylvia & Theo

Hello. We are Sylvia, a British lady, and Theo, an Australian man, who have met up and found love and happiness together in our later years. We are both well-travelled ex professionals now living the simple life focused on what really makes us happy, family, friends and furries (feathers too :))

If you like to keep your property clean, tidy and cared for, and your animal buddies loved and well cared for, then we would be ideal sitters as this is how we live and would look after yours as if it was our own. We don't drink or smoke (health choices) and are as happy sitting looking out at a beautiful sunset, or wild storm, as at the TV. As we work virtually it would be great to have access to internet although we carry a mobile router with us.

We prefer sits of at least 2 weeks and can be flexible about start and end dates.

EXPERIENCE: We are currently on our 82nd sit over 6+ years and full time since 2018, mostly in Australia (Brisbane, Sunny and Gold Coasts) plus a few in France and the UK. We are registered on other leading housesit sites with 5 star ratings, and have further references from happy house owners (Sylvi has a Blue Card and has also been through the Partner Visa process that checks background and history) Our furry friends have included dogs - Labradors, terriers, Vizlas, Staffy, poddle, Cockerpoo, Cavoodle - cats, chickens, parrot, and we are great with older boys and girls or those with separation anxiety, all needing special care and attention. Plus keeping a watchful eye over the odd horse, sheep, goats etc, Sylvi had her own horse at one time and Theo spent time on bush ranches in the far north.

We have loved many of our own animals over the years: dogs, cats, hamsters, fish and horses. Theo has a soft spot for large working horses and cows, not that we have seen many while housesitting. He is brilliant with big dogs having owned a few in his life, the last being a Rottie called Jackson.

Theo's first aid and general medical training (from his time as a national trainer with Australian surf life saving) means we can also give special care to animals that need that little bit extra or are in need of medication..

As global travellers we have lived overseas for many years and easily adapt to new environments and situations. We have lived in rented properties over the years and always left them as good, if not better, than when we moved in. We enjoy cleaning and tidying so if you have a shed/garage/barn that needs a spring clean, and you're not in a hurry, then we're in. We are both hands-on, practical and resourceful, being able to fix and mend most things.
