Kelsey & Anton

We are Anton and Kelsey Van Veen, a Christian, American couple living in Australia since the start of 2023. We love surfing, traveling, hiking, reading, and fishing (mostly Anton). We both grew up with a variety of animals and have personally looked after their needs (mostly dogs and cats, but also fish, rats, birds, goats, and horses). Kelsey has house sat for numerous families including taking care of a variety of dogs and cats. Since we’ve been married we have dog and house sat at an assortment of homes here in Australia and in the United States. Since we are newer to the site, we also have additional references from both Australia and the US we can provide.

Kelsey was a swim teacher and is currently pursuing her dream job by earning a Master's of Teaching Primary in person at the University of Sunshine Coast. She works part-time as a Teacher's Aide on her days off Uni but plans on doing most of her studying at home. Anton is working part-time as a handyman and had his own building business back in California. He is capable of addressing any unforeseen housing issues that might arise and also has his own power tools. He is also studying for a Master's in Teaching Secondary in Maths and Design Technology.

We both live a healthy, active lifestyle and enjoy taking walks outside as much (or more) as your pups do. Kelsey does not drink and we both do not smoke or vape. We are clean, mature, reliable, kind, honest, friendly, enthusiastic, and will treat your home, neighbours, and pets with respect. We also do a thorough cleaning before you come back to ensure you come home to a fresh space.

We are looking to house and pet sit in the Sunshine Coast area while we sort out long-term housing and would love to have the opportunity to love on and care for your home and pets. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you 😊
