Hi - I'm a Canadian-Australian (a CanAussie! 🇨🇦🇦🇺) who's a longtime Northern Beaches resident, having lived here all of my 17 years in Oz.
I currently enjoy a flexible lifestyle thanks to an extended book-writing sabbatical and work from home as a writer, coach and consultant. This enables me to offer my services as a housesitter and pet-pal to those in the greater Beaches (and sometimes Central Coast/Hunter) areas.
Happy to offer you peace of mind, knowing that everything is in the hands of a mature professional who's great with animals and a respectful, conscientious caretaker of your space. Plus I really enjoy the variety of getting to know different neighbourhoods and groups of people.
Here in my profile I've included photos of some of the doggos it's been my pleasure to sit.
During my housesits I've taken care of a whole range of breeds, both large and small, puppies to senior dogs and multiple dogs (plus other pets) in the same home. I've changed pet dressings from recent surgeries, handled medical emergencies that involved veterinary visits and even animal hospital, administered medications, managed "special needs" dogs, nervous animals, rescue dogs and pets who are just a little bit...quirky.
I've also taken care of household requirements, from tradie visits and ongoing renos to electrical/plumbing/internet/floods/insect invasions and general maintenance and repairs.
I have a lifetime of experience with dogs and hold a current Red Cross Pet First Aid certification and bring both pet and human first aid kits with me on all house/petsitting gigs. A current NSW Police Check is available on request; it serves as both name/ID verification and certifies that I have no criminal record.
My objective is to make your time away as stress-free as possible, knowing your home and best friend(s) are in safe hands.

Todd in a word was 'exceptional'! Our dogs unexpectedly ended up at the vet the day before we left on holiday. Todd handled the whole situation with aplomb and I had complete confidence that everything on the home front was being handled superbly - important when you're thousands of miles away! Todd is an excellent pet and house sitter. Todd took great care of our two Labradors in September/October 2023. While they were happy to see us upon our return they were not happy that Todd left them. In the words of our dogs "Todd was very easy to train. Good food and very regular supply of treats. Sorry about all the dog hair- we were just shedding like all good Labradors! Please look after us next time our family goes on holiday." Todd thank you for being such a great sitter.

I would highly recommend Todd to look after your home and pets. When we arrived home from our 12 day holiday our house was immaculate and dog was very happy. We also received regular updates to let us know how everything was with our Doggo. Communication was excellent and regular leading up to and during our time away.

This was our first time leaving Louis, our now 13 year old cavoodle with someone who was not family. Well, we needn't have worried. Todd cared for him as if he was his own. He managed Louis' daily medications, & walks but most of all was wonderful company for him, which was our main requirement. On our return , it was lovely to see the interactions between Todd & Louis. Todd was really fantastic and took amazing care of our little Freckles. Very good communication, left the house neat and tidy (after a power outage and hot water issue - Todd fixed it all no problem!) Freckles seemed to really mesh with Todd and had a blast playing ball (almost non-stop) and cuddling in down times. Todd was extremely friendly when we first met and instantly knew he would be a great fit. He looked after our dog as if she were his own and gave her as many walk as she wanted. We came back to a clean house and appreciated the updates we received from Todd during our trip away. We have already started organising our next house sit with Todd later in the year.

Todd provided excellent care for Jackson our Jack Russell. Prior to the house sit he sent us a questionere about Jackson’s needs, routine and information about our home. Todd sent us updates regularly and kept our apartment spotless. We have had him pet sit several times and have always found him exceptional.

We were absolutely delighted to have Todd sit for us. We had an unexpected medical issue with our dog the day before we left requiring surgery. Todd was brilliant in dealing with his recovery in our absence. We were kept well informed about his progress and were reassured that he was in good hands. Todd also took excellent care of our home. We would have Todd sit for us again in a heartbeat.
