We have been home and pet owners for the past 30 years so have a wealth of experience and pride in managing the upkeep of a home and the routines of a family household with pets. When we have left our own home & pets in the care of others we have appreciated the true value of having responsible, attentive, tidy, caring sitters.
It's a privilege to provide such a valuable service and you can trust us to give you the peace of mind that we will treat yours as our own whilst you are away. We see it as a mutually beneficial situation allowing us to explore and experience new communities and parts of our beautiful country whilst caring for your beloved pets and home. We have worked hard as professionals in our careers and are currently both working casually to enable us the flexibility to pursue other interests and travel this year. House/pet sitting seems like a great opportunity for us to do this and we trust it will be of equal value to you . We love to go on walks and to be active outside, exploring & connecting with nature. We enjoy home projects and gardening & then relaxing in the evenings with a book or a movie allowing plenty of time & attention for furry friends. As animal lovers our own pets have included dogs, birds, rabbits, fish, a turtle and a goat. Our children have recently flown the coop enabling us the freedom to travel & housesit. Being a teacher and a builder you can feel reassured of great communication and responsibility in managing any issues that might arise. If there are any specific maintenance/carpentry/painting jobs Trev can assist with during our stay we are open to requests during longer stays with an agreed fee for professional maintenance projects.
We have done house & petsitting for family and friends over many years including a 4 month stint in England. We know how much easier it is to relax when away with the knowledge that your home ,garden and family members are being well cared for. We can be relied upon to provide regular communication and updates to ease your mind throughout our stay. We can provide references at your request and are happy to share pictures/videos of our own home/garden and well loved dogs - our best point of reference. We're always happy to arrange a phone call/facetime to get to know your needs better and to see if we are a good fit. We would be willing to arrive a day before your departure for long stays for a thorough handover when required. We would prefer a nonsmoker, cat free home due to sensitivities.
Being employed in education and emergency services we both hold a current Police Check and Working With Children Check.
