Hello! We are James and Sonja Brady, happily married for over 30 years. James is of Scott's origin, Sonja is German. Australia has been our home for many years. We both love animals and travelling and once we discovered housesitting in 2016 we have been full time house and pet sitting with "Trusted Housesitters" in Australia, UK and all over Europe. In the last four years we did over 80 five star housesits - all references are accessible via Trusted Housesitters website. In March 2020 we returned to Australia living with family in Cairns and now after the corona lockdown eases we have had two sits in Cairns (dogs, cats, snakes). Our agent (Trusted Housesitters) is UK based and has limited offers in Australia - we recently found Aussie Housesitters which gives us more local options so we became members beginning of July 2020. We are reliable, trustworthy, have sober habits, are mature and sensible. We are quiet, homely but also like meeting people, caring for animals and looking after house and garden - you would have peace of mind selecting us to care for your precious pets and protecting your valuable possessions. We are self funded retirees owning rented properties in Australia and Germany making us aware of owners concerns. We also used house sitters in the past and know about the importance of feeling assured that your animals and home are well looked after. We volunteered in several animal shelters and in our extensive experience as house sitters we looked after many types of animals, we enjoy housekeeping and pottering in the garden. All our 80 plus hosts have been very happy with our services - pleased to returned to happy and healthy pets and a tidy home. We have our own transport. You could not wish for better caretakers! We will look after your animals and home as if they were our own.

Sonja and James were just brilliant sitters and such lovely people. Our two dogs, Joe and Sandy, loved them. they were so healthy and happy when we returned. I am sure they would have happily left with Sonja and James if they could have. The house was left in perfect condition. Sonja and James also went over and above in our absence, accommodating a service to the garage door, installation of a new TV and even took on our son's dog for the final two nights. I can't recommend them highly enough.

This was our first experience with a new sitter and we were a little nervous as we would be out of phone range for 6 days.
But our relief and confidence with our choice was immediate upon meeting Sonja & James.
We knew that our 2 kelpies were going to be in very capable and loving hands.
Will definitely be keeping in contact for the next trip away

We highly recommend Sonja & James. We returned to our house being immaculately clean! They even cleaned all the windows. Sonya was very flexible as we got a new large Rottweiler 3 weeks out from the sitting start date and the sitters where happy to care for all 3 dogs and 2 cats. We also extend our trip by 3 nights which the sitters where happy to accommodate.
Our pets were very well cared for which relieved any anxieties about leaving the pets over the 3 weeks.

Sonja & James are extremely wonderful human beings! They were so good with our fur babies - they sent regular photos and catch ups while were were away. They attended the watering of our garden and kept our house safe and clean. They had dinner ready for us after our long drive home. We would love to have them return for our next away adventure and would highly recommend them to any family wanting reliable, safe and trustworthy house sitters

Their thoughtfulness with little photos and videos throughout our stay and a tidy up and welcome home flowers made our trip all the more memorable. We couldn't recommend Sonja and James enough! They are both such lovely, warm people who were so easy to communicate with. They looked after our pug, cat and chickens with so much love and care that they are missing them now they are gone. Our house was left tidier than we have ever managed to get it! They were amazing house guests. I was worried leaving my little dogs (a last minute decision) but I received photos and updated and I'm pretty sure my dogs actually miss them!!

Sonja and James were fantastic! I honestly think our dogs and cats preferred they stayed and we went back on holidays! They enjoy the company of the animals and happily spend loads of time with them. Our large dogs got plenty of walks, despite very wet weather and our cats immediately took to James, which is unusual for them. We had regular updates with the photos of our babies having a great time. The house was clean and tidy, all linens washed AND dinner cooked when i returned, which was ... Sonja and James were great sitters. The animals were very relaxed and happy on our return. They even had new toys and treats!

Sonya and James are fabulous house and dog sitter who inspired confidence from the word go.
Sonja regularly communicated with us and sent photos and videos of our dog Zep on their walks and around the house and we could see how comfortable Zep was in their presence.
We arrived back to a super clean and tidy house and lawn mowed and maintained pool.
We wouldn't hesitate to have Sonja and James back whenever we are away from home.
Highly recommend.

I was lucky to meet Sonja and James and have them house sit for me. They are a lovely couple and very accommodating. It was easy to leave miss Mia knowing she was in safe and in caring hands. They clearly love animals as our fur babies were very happy.
