77, Retired, ex Agricultural Scientist
74, retired, previous business owner
Merrilyn and Russ have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren and have resided in our own homes on the Sunshine Coast for over 42 years. They are non-smokers. We are a animal loving family which has included several cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, horses, cattle, fish, guinea pigs over the years. When they were young, we supported our girls at pony club for many years, serving on the committee.
Russ worked as an agricultural Scientist at The Maroochy Research Station, Nambour and Merrilyn ran her own business for several years.
We owned rental properties and expect high standards from tenants, and of ourselves as house sitters, respecting the property of others. We have our own pool so are experienced with maintenance, etc. Russ has maintained home gardens and been a home handyman in our family home,
Russ remains community minded, an active member of the Rotary Club of Nambour and, with Merrilyn, the Probus Club of Nambour 90. He has served in responsible community service roles over the years. He is currently running a humanitarian project to alleviate malnutrition in an impoverished, remote part of PNG where child malnutrition is unacceptably high, encouraging families to adopt more varied and nutritious diets, particularly for their under 5 children whose physical and mental development can be irreparably impaired by malnutrition.
Russ and Merrilyn recently sold their house and wish to experience house sitting for a year or so before moving into a new home in a village community. While we would like to continue spending some time on the Sunshine Coast, we are open to other options in other parts of Australia.
