Hi
I have retired about 6 years ago and have been travelling and living in Portugal and EU.
I returned to Australia on 28th May 2022 and have been housesitting since. I have spent the past 1year & 1/2 housing around Australia with my Husband, but now am starting on my own.
I am originally from Kiama, lived there for 23yrs, where my 3 sons grew up and went to school,
I am looking for long term sitting if possible, but happy to help out wherever is needed. I have cared for many gorgeous pets, dogs, cats and also farm animals after spending 6 month on a remote property in QLD caring for chickens, guinea pigs, and a horse.
I am a on-smoker and house proud, clean, tidy & responsible.
I am very mindful of caring for other people's property as if it were my own and security conscious. I am happy to care for your pets as well as easy garden maintenance/watering and pool care etc.
I worked for the public service for 15 years, then after having my 3 sons acquired a Diploma in Child/Community Services, also worked as home support worker.
I have been a part of an Australian house swapping group which swaps homes all over the world since 2019 and have some reviews from these if you would like to see.
As you would expect by being part of this group we all expect the highest level of respect for each other's privacy, and belongings.

Lena and Colin were outstanding house sitters. They had our home and our two elderly dogs for 4 months. They came one night early to observe our routine with them and loved and cared for them during their stay as we would. They have excellent communication skills and contacted us on a regular basis so we felt very comfortable with our dogs in their care. Lena undertook a housesit for us recently for 1week and 5 days. Lena did a great job looking after our two cats, one cat being elderly and more needy than usual 🧡 As well as watering our pot plants and small garden. Lena kept us up to date with news from home by way of texts from time to time and did a great job at keeping everything running smoothly. Lena was fabulous with me while my humans were away! Once mum & dad left she settled in well with me, learned my routines, and fed me the wet and dry yum-yums as required. I can be a bit anxious so mum usually sprinkles some magic dust in my foods, but Lena kept that up for me and we had no troubles. We took some cute selfies which she shared with mum & dad to stay in touch (once mum figured out the time change in Vancouver) and was a great cuddler, she even let me sleep on the foot of her ... Colin and Lena looked after our home for 2 months while my partner and I went overseas on holiday. We met with both just a few days before our departure and provided orientation to our suburban home and garden and both were very attentive and presented well. On our return the house was in great shape and the lawns were mowed, even though NSW had experienced an extreme amount of rain and storms during our time away. I highly recommend them as housesitters.

Lena and Colin were excellent house sitters. Communication was great. They took care of the house leaving it clean and tidy. We appreciated arriving home to a lovely meal prepared for us. Lena sent photos of Puss while we were away and we came home to a relaxed, contented cat. Highly recommended sitters.

Lena and Colin did a wonderful job of taking care of our house and dog Gizmo while we were away. Our pup is a little Moodle who is quite anxious, so having someone around for him when we're not there is quite important to us. Communication was really easy with Lena. Lena and Colin came to care for our furbaby Cash whilst we were away visiting family overseas for 4 weeks. During that time Cash turned ONE and Lena went above and beyond to ensure that Cash was celebrating in style! Lena and Colin housesat our two Cavoodles and Siamese cat for two weeks in June 2022. They were outstanding and I would be happy to use them again and again . They left us homemade sausage rolls to eat when we arrived home!!! Communication was excellent. We have a cleaner who comes once per week and he said that they were nice people and the house was immaculate and really didn't need cleaning.
