I am a very active, fit and healthy retiree with extensive experience within the tourism industry. Prior to my retirement in 2016, I held management rights to a resort on the Gold Coast for a period of 10 years and owned/managed motels and caravan parks in Victoria, NSW in the years prior. I have loved and cared for many pets over the years, and would take great pleasure in caring for others as they were my own.

My partner, Donna has also had extensive experience within the tourism industry and prior to her retirement earlier this year was employed as a medical receptionist. Donna also has a love of animals and has taken great joy in caring for her son's 2 golden retrievers and cat on a regular basis.

We are very respectful of other peoples homes and property, are both non smokers, enjoy a quiet life in retirement, love gardening and see house-sitting as a wonderful way to travel and make new friends with the added benefit of the love of caring for pets.

We can provide referrals from previous home owners for positions undertaken prior to joining Aussie House Sitters.

James visited a couple of weeks before we were leaving to confirm the arrangements, then arrived on the day we departed. He was able, at late notice, to extend the sit by a couple of weeks, which was a great relief to us. When we got home after a 10 week absence, we were absolutely delighted with the condition of both the house, and especially the garden. Jim and Donna were fantastic. Lovely people who genuinely cared about looking after the house, garden and our dog. They kept in touch with us whilst we were away and were very attentive to the details we had left for them. Our dog was clearly very happy to be with them and when we got back it was just as we had left. Would highly recommend.

James was the best house sitter we could have hoped for. Both our pets loved him... even Frank who can be a snobby sausage dog! James took Frank with him wherever he went and I think Frank secretly hopes that James will return soon! The plants were looked after extremely well & James even mowed the lawn & brought our herbs back to life! The house itself was kept very clean and everything was perfect!
