We currently don't have pets (or kids), but our 3 beautiful German Shepherds (Jess, Sasha & Shep) brought us immense joy over 21 years, with the odd cat along the way.
We have a wealth of experience through years of being paw-parents and pet-minding, qualifications through TAFE and On-line courses, Police Checks, Covid Vaccinated, a love of animals and extremely house-proud - so could be the ideal housesitter you are looking for.
Since 1995, a multitude of 4 legged pooches came through our gates to stay and play with our wonderful dogs, so caring for people's pets is second nature to us. We have supported the RSPCA and have volunteered at Riding for the Disabled.
We are genuine, reliable, active, non-smokers who love animals - especially dogs and cats. We have great endorsements from home-owners, lovely references and repeat requests.
We are conservative (don't party or drink) - but definitely not boring as we enjoy nothing more than having a good laugh with friends. We have a healthy and active lifestyle that includes cycling, canoeing, 4 wheel driving and camping, so we are fit and energetic and really enjoy walking dogs to check out the locality. We like exploring new areas and day-tripping but also enjoy chilling with the fur-kids of an evening and exploring the neighbourhood on dog walks.
We are very pedantic home-owners so rest assure we will respect your place and leave it clean and tidy - like you would have for us :) We love the opportunity to explore different areas and are grateful that many owners have trusted us with their beloved pets and home.
We keep in touch with owners so they know everything is OK with their home and their pets are well loved so you can have a relaxing time away.
After leaving our professional office jobs in 2017, we had a fabulous 'Gap Year' travelling around Australia and minding much loved pets. Of late, we've had a stream of requests to pet-sit locally through word-of-mouth and regular clients but we are looking to go travelling once again.
We completed a couple of TAFE courses in 2022 and learning anything to do with caring for pets is so interesting. And anything interesting is fun, so we had a great time in the classes. We both gained Statement of Attainments in: "Animal Behaviour and Learning" and "Dog Grooming".
We love to problem solve to help animals achieve their best self and we have become confident in dog clipping but haven't the practice to do a style cut. But we keep Richard's Mum's Shih-tzu trimmed and his coat short for summer :)
We look forward to seeing new places while caring for pets when their owners are away. And we just enjoy using our skills and experience to improve a pet's quality of life. We know when animals are understood, they respond so well and are so much happier. We love and mind all size dogs but if your dog is big, strong and not trained to walk on a lead, then for safety reasons we will be unsuitable to walk them if they pull or lunge. As an alternative, we can play and exercise them in the backyard.

I could not have asked for better house sitters than Karen and Richard.
Very open and thorough with communication, giving updates on what our puppies were getting up to and what they had been doing.
The house was spotless on return and they had changed the sheets back over and put there sheets and towels on the line.
Such a lovely couple. It was a pleasure having them stay.

Karen and Richard took care of my home for two weeks. The house was very clean and the garden survived the warm weather well, so I was pleased with that result.
But that’s where the positives end. On a few occasions, I found Karen to be critical, and would have preferred a much more positive working style instead. The first email from her included points where my cleaning wasn’t up to her standard and needed to be improved. And later communications often had detail points that were ... She also did things despite requests not to (drain the pool or spray for ants, which killed a plant) where I said not to, as she felt she knew better. And there was an odd request to have overnight guests, inappropriate in my view.

We have two border collies with anxiety issues and leaving them in the care of others is a worry for us, but not with Karen and Richard who took the best care of them whilst we were away. Our dogs were walked, brushed and most importantly loved in our absence. We were given regular updates on how our dogs were going the whole time we were away and our home was respected and spotless on our return. We first met Karen and Richard when they arrived at our home to have a meet and greet prior to their house/puppy sit for us.
Instantly we felt that they were going to be a great fit to look after our two puppies. They both had a beautiful calm and caring approach towards them and we could tell that our puppies were very comfortable with them.
Karen and Richard were 100% on point with their communication, we had an initial phone call, then a meet and greet and during the weeks leading up to ... MOREWe first met Karen and Richard when they arrived at our home to have a meet and greet prior to their house/puppy sit for us.

They were very knowledgeable about animals and caring. I'm pleased that Karen and Richard enjoyed our little slice of paradise and were able to explore the area. It would be hard to find better house/pet sitters than Karen and Richard! I think my old cat Vinnie wouldn't have minded them moving in. They are true animal lovers and wonderful people. I didn't worry about Vinnie at all while we were away because I received regular updates on his health and activities. The level of attention and care was above-and-beyond for both our kitty and home. Simply the best!

We were kept in touch every day with emails, photos and details of our dogs' antics, as well as updates with any house issues or requests. Having this assurance was so welcome and it made for a relaxing and stress-free time away, knowing every creature and everything was in good hands!
We honestly cannot recommend Karen and Richard highly enough. They are wonderful, genuine, caring and knowledgeable people. We wish we actually had more time to spend with them and we are very hopeful we can do this again in the near future!

Karen and Richard are lovely people who took really good care of our little cavoodle, Ginger for 6 weeks. They regularly kept in touch with us on our long voyage through several countries via WhatsApp, email and video conference. We often received emails with lots of photos and videos of Ginger which everyone looked forward to receiving. We were happy to return home to find everything exactly the same as we left it, the house was clean, the plants in good condition and Ginger was a happy little ... MOREKaren and Richard are lovely people who took really good care of our little cavoodle, Ginger for 6 weeks. I am almost reluctant to recommend Karen and Richard as House Sitters as I know once the secret is out we will have difficulty booking them.
We left our beautiful dogs and elusive cat with Karen and Richard whilst we went skiing for a week. Upon first meeting Karen and Richard I immediately felt really sure that our handsome Labrador "Enzo" and precious elderly Labradoodle "Co" and "Wasabi" our cat would be in the safest of hands. Karen and Richard are a truly delightful couple. Not ... Karen and Richard are polite, kind, happy, enthusiastic and responsible. Luckily for us they are coming back at the end of the month to housesit for us again. I think our puppies and cat will be very excited to see them. I cannot recommend Karen and Richard highly enough and I hope Karen and Richard have great success in the future finding some wonderful Housesitting jobs around Australia!

Karen and Richard housesat for us in Brisbane for four weeks in June/ July 2018 while we were on a European cruise. They cared for, and spoilt our Airedale terrier and sent daily updates and photos of their activities and interaction with our dog-walking neighbours. They maintained the house and garden in excellent condition.
We highly recommend and endorse them for future house care opportunities.

This was our first experience using Aussie Housesitters and Karen and Richard were absolutely amazing! I cannot recommend them highly enough. They looked after our 3 year old golden retriever Saffy and home for 2 1/2 weeks whilst we were overseas and things couldn't have gone better. As soon as we met Karen and Richard we felt very comfortable that we were leaving Saffy and our home in good hands. It was extremely hot whilst we were away and I have a big garden which required very vigilant watering - I was amazed how good it looked on our return. The house was also absolutely immaculate - I'm pretty fussy but it was just lovely very to walk in after a long flight and have everything looking as it did. Even things like the bbq which is on its last legs, Richard cleaned and it is now so much better! I can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you!

Karen and Richard looked after our house and two kelpies for four days from 5th October 2017. Our house was lovely and clean when we returned and most importantly our dogs were walked, fed, patted and very happy. They even fixed our bathroom exhaust in that short time. We were very happy with Karen and Richard and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs their pets well looked after and house left nice and clean.

Hi all. I meet Karen and Richard when they agreed to house sit for us over the Christmas/New Year period in 2016. They looked after our 2 dogs and 2 chooks and were very missed when they left. Karen and Richard house sat for us for eight nights and took on the rather large task of looking after our cats, fish, horses, house and garden.
They did a wonderful job with all of the animals happy and healthy on our return. It was a lovely surprise to find the horses paddock free of manure. Karen and Richard mulched our trees which was a job that we hadn't got around to. We came home to a lovely clean house and would love to have them house sit for us again.

While we were away we received regular update messages including photos letting us know our dogs and cat were happy and doing well (which we had no doubt would be the case). We even got some videos emailed to us. They took the time to take our dogs for daily walks despite them ... I knew from the moment that I met them that our dogs would be well looked after and we would be able to having a relaxing holiday. We got a quick message every morning just to let us know that all was OK, along with a few cute photos and I'm sure our dogs received more attention in those six days than they ... We were super fortunate that they made themselves available again after providing outstanding house & garden care last year for 10 weeks.
We found everything above standard again and all plants survived greatly despite the early hot weather this year.
Extra care was given to some areas in the house we had no time to get around to before and were amazed finding it looked after on our return.
