75, Retired Teacher
42, Veterinary surgeon
I am a retired teacher who has relocated to Tasmania to start a new phase of my life and to be closer to my only daughter. Because I value integrity, reputation and am a very friendly, caring, highly responsible person, I thought maybe I could offer my services to people who would like a person who would treat their home and pets as my own. I have always owned my own home so I understand the need for a person who would not only be honest but, clean and orderly. My late husband and I had a fair share of our pets over the years and I seem to have a good bond with most pets and have a diverse experience with house pets, wildlife and farm animals. I love horses but would not say I am the most confident with them despite having owned five of them. As we always had animals our daughter also had a love for animals and is a well respected Veterinarian Surgeon. I have a Police clearance, I am a non-smoker.
My daughter sometimes joins me for part of a housesit, but I mostly do housesits on my own
There is nothing that I would not try and I would be committed to the job at hand. I understand the issues that can arise and feel capable of dealing with them.
I have a deep commitment to the environment, enjoy gardening,
I am extremely house proud as I tend to suffer from a little OCD Ha!
Because I tend to stay around more when housesitting, I look for things to do that might not be on the list of requirements.
Housesitting enables me to experience different locations around Australia, that I probably wouldn't be able to afford otherwise and be part of the community for the period of the housesit. Also, I am able to look after amazing pets and give them a lot of love and time. I find it increasingly difficult to leave them behind as I end up sharing a strong bond with them.
I housesat in Gympie and I took my ukulele along and joined the most awesome Gusto group for the five weeks I was there. I made some life long friends that would not have happened if I had not been housesitting. It is what you make it but I just love it..
I am also on the Mindahome site as I found these two sites were better for Australian housesits. I would like the chance to gain a good reference from this site by being able to house sit.
I am very friendly, positive and flexible. Usually I fit in with owners needs.
I look forward to hearing from you if you think I would be suitable for your position.
Cheers Cheryl O'Meara
