Cher

75, Retired Teacher

42, Veterinary surgeon

I am a retired teacher who has relocated to Tasmania to start a new phase of my life and to be closer to my only daughter. Because I value integrity, reputation and am a very friendly, caring, highly responsible person, I thought maybe I could offer my services to people who would like a person who would treat their home and pets as my own. I have always owned my own home so I understand the need for a person who would not only be honest but, clean and orderly. My late husband and I had a fair share of our pets over the years and I seem to have a good bond with most pets and have a diverse experience with house pets, wildlife and farm animals. I love horses but would not say I am the most confident with them despite having owned five of them. As we always had animals our daughter also had a love for animals and is a well respected Veterinarian Surgeon. I have a Police clearance, I am a non-smoker.
My daughter sometimes joins me for part of a housesit, but I mostly do housesits on my own

There is nothing that I would not try and I would be committed to the job at hand. I understand the issues that can arise and feel capable of dealing with them.
I have a deep commitment to the environment, enjoy gardening,
I am extremely house proud as I tend to suffer from a little OCD Ha!
Because I tend to stay around more when housesitting, I look for things to do that might not be on the list of requirements.

Housesitting enables me to experience different locations around Australia, that I probably wouldn't be able to afford otherwise and be part of the community for the period of the housesit. Also, I am able to look after amazing pets and give them a lot of love and time. I find it increasingly difficult to leave them behind as I end up sharing a strong bond with them.

I housesat in Gympie and I took my ukulele along and joined the most awesome Gusto group for the five weeks I was there. I made some life long friends that would not have happened if I had not been housesitting. It is what you make it but I just love it..

I am also on the Mindahome site as I found these two sites were better for Australian housesits. I would like the chance to gain a good reference from this site by being able to house sit.
I am very friendly, positive and flexible. Usually I fit in with owners needs.
I look forward to hearing from you if you think I would be suitable for your position.

Cheers Cheryl O'Meara

No rating Cheryl did a house-sit for me taking care of my 12 year old dog whilst I took a break. My dog has health issues requiring a little more attention than usual. Cheryl was wonderful with her, and took care of all her needs with lots of love and care. The house was immaculate on my return and every-one was happy. I would have no hesitation recommending Cheryl to take care of your home and your animals.

Cheryl left our house and pets amazingly. Communication and photos while we were away kept our minds at ease for the first time leaving our fur babies

We were fortunate indeed to have Cheryl's support. She helped us get to the airport. Her communication was/is excellent, keeping us posted with pictures and updates. She checked in around support for the animals. We arrived to a clean home with some provisions. Lastly and most importantly, she assisted us the night after we returned and came back to the sit after we had a bad car accident. She picked me up at the hospital around 2am and watched the house until I could get home. Thank you Cheryl ... MORE
