We are active retirees, enjoy good health and love a variety of activities including golf, long walks, fishing, kayaking, cycling, cooking and most importantly travel and meeting new friends.

Originally from the UK we have lived and worked in Australia for 40 years, have recently retired and live in our beachside apartment just north of Brisbane. We have one grown up son currently working in the UK.

As we now enjoy travelling a lot and live in an apartment we currently have no pets but do get withdrawal symptoms as we have been used to having our furry and feathered friends as part of our family for many years. These "friends" include dogs,cats, various caged birds including chooks and mustn"t forget the goldfish. Our last dog was a lovely golden retriever who we still miss. We did a house sit in Wellington, NZ for 5 weeks, Christmas 2018, and really enjoyed looking after a 3 year old spoodle. We still keep in touch with the family and they have kindly written a reference which we can provide on request.

We have always been house proud and would take care of any property and pets as if they were our own. We are non-smokers.

Barry & Sue are incredible…. accommodating, efficient, practical, great problem solvers, caring, social, lovers of life, nothing at all is a problem for them. They went above and beyond the required duties, fixed niggly things that were broken, cleared fallen down trees, loved our pets and farm animals, made contact when unsure, etc. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them as sitters although I’d just like to keep them for myself. Barry and Sue are brilliant housesitters and anyone who has them to sit will be extremely lucky. Their communication is excellent and we received regular updates while we were away. It was lovely to go away feeling very relaxed in the knowledge that our house and pets were in very capable hands. Barry and Sue are the nicest people you could ever meet. It was an absolute pleasure to meet them and have them look after our animals, house and garden. My garden was kept watered during a hotspell, Barry mowed the lawn twice in the two weeks (above and beyond), the animals loved them - Murphy really missed them when they'd gone. Sue and Barry were absolutely amazing house sitters, taking better care of our house and yard than we manage to ourselves! They weeded gardens, folded washing and even cleaned my oven! Our dog Rosie was well looked after and clearly content, having these two lovely people caring for her. It was also really nice to return late at night from our trip to fresh bread and milk, and even a sweet and thoughtful gift of pocket money left for our children! Sue and Barry were very easy to communicate with, before during and after their sit. With Covid lockdowns in Sydney and Victoria, their flexiblity and willingness was very reassuring. Barry and Sue were fantastic house sitters. We have a large garden, two collie dogs and a tropical fish tank that they looked after very well. They dropped back in between house sits to say hello, and Cienna and Minnie, the collies, were very excited to see them. Minnie is a pup so she loves everyone but Cienna is quite aloof.
