The location offers amazing views of Goolwa, Lake Alexandrina and the the Coorong. Popular seaside towns of Victor Harbor, Port Elliot, Middleton & Goolwa are only 10-20 mins away. A multitude of wineries on your doorstep - McLaren Vale, Finnis & Langhorne Creek.

Housesitter required to care for 2 horses, 45 head of cattle, & my dog Raffy, a quirky and somewhat fearful 8 year old Lagotto, who can be challenging until he gets to know you. Experience with dog behaviour & training is highly desirable.

The horses will require checking and feeding twice daily, therefore experience with horses is a definite advantage. The cattle will need to be fed out hay twice a week & moved into new paddocks regularly. Farm experience would be a bonus, ie ability to competently operate a ride on mower and/tractor or backhoe (if required.) Mowing and feeding out hay wouldn't be necessary for shorter stays of a week to 10 days.

My home has a lot of natural light & is clean, modern & comfortable. You are welcome to stay in my house. But if you prefer to stay in your van/motorhome, there is asphalt parking in front of the house with accessible water and power.

Panoramic, expansive views of the surrounding countryside are ever changing and you will enjoy privacy, peace & quiet as well as security behind solar electric gates.

Creature comforts: reverse cycle aircon, large screen TV, wifi, modern kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, gas hotplates and oven. House is on rainwater only.

The climate here is generally several degrees cooler in summer than Adelaide and the very popular & picturesque seaside town of Victor Harbor is only 20 minutes away. Mount Compass and Goolwa are the closest towns for grocery shopping, approx 10 mins away.

I look forward to meeting any interested prospective housesitters. Preference is given for an active, mature aged single person/couple, experienced with dogs, horses and cattle.

If you have the desire, ability & experience to look after my animals & property, whilst enjoying a country lifestyle, I look forward to hearing from you.

Happy to answer any questions you may have, so please feel free to call me any time.

My dog is an 8 yo Lagotto Romagnolo who has anxiety & fear issues. He requires an understanding and competent carer who is experienced with his sensitive temperament.

Two horses, 10 yo quarterhorse "Cowboy" & 19 yo stockhorse "Waffles". Easy to look after and very friendly. Need feeding twice a day.
Herd of 45 cattle will require being fed hay with tractor twice a week. Some cows may be calving in November.

Our garden

local_floristGarden or plant care

Average - Mowing grass around house and driveway with a ride on mower - may or may not be needed, depending on season.

We really enjoyed housesitting for Carol and Graeme on their farm in the Fleurieu Peninsula. We loved our daily walks around the property and enjoyed looking after all of their animals. Also had some time to explore the local area - there is plenty to see and do on the Fleurieu! Carol and Graeme - it was lovely to meet you and we hope we can return and housesit for you again in the future!

Easy going, friendly couple, Carol & Graeme have a lovely home & property with spectacular views to coastal surroundings. A great location & area, bushland, scenery, coastline & towns. Would love the opportunity to re-visit & sit again. Many thanks to Carol & Graeme, Carol's great communication, more than happy to recommend to any other future sitters.

What a lovely house sit, Carol and Graeme made us feel at home on our first meeting. Raffy was a pleasure to sit, he kept us on our toes and gave us loads of love and laughs. Carol had all instructions down pat and we found it easy to understand the horses daily routine. Graeme explained the cow movement (from paddock to paddock) which we found exciting to do. We had a passing of a beloved fur baby during our sit, Carol and Graeme were wonderful to help us through it with support. Their home ... A tranquil and quiet location with spectacular views. The house was clean and well presented. Communication and instructions were clear and fluent. The 4 horses and a beautiful red heeler "Megsy" were a delight to look after with no bother at all. We enjoyed many walks along the country roads. A great house sit which we are happy to recommend to other sitters. Many thanks to Carol and Graham.
