Our home

House is situated on 1 hectare in Lockyer Valley close to Toowoomba We have a high set timber home that has 9 steps up to the living area with room to park under cover. Sitter would have space for own caravan (if needed) next to house with close access to shower, toilet and laundry facilities or could stay in the house with ensuite bathroom.
Our pool may need minimal attention Ie. leaf basket emptied.

favoriteWhat we love about our area

Postman's Ridge is in a fairly quiet rural area. There are heaps of native birds. It's close to the city but has a country vibe. We have beautiful native gardens in a quiet but friendly neighbourhood. It's one hour to Brisbane or 10 minutes to Toowoomba. Lovely weather most of the year. Come visit!

Pepper, our dog, is a 5 year old poodle shitzu cross who loves a cuddle and is inside at night. We have 4 chook pens with a variety of chooks. They will need to be fed and watered each day, as well as eggs collected. We have 2 aviaries (one has budgies and the other has 7 cockatiels) which need to be checked every 2nd day.

Average - A mixture of watering needs in the garden depending on rain. There are also pot plants scattered around the house and property which will need water twice throughout the 8 days. If no rain could be up to 30 mins watering every couple of days. Mowing will not be required.

We are a married couple in our 60s who work part time; teacher and crane operator We have 3 grown children & 5 grandchildren. We love travelling both in Oz & abroad. We love our pets, gardens & home.

Important info

There is a second residence on our property. Access to that house uses the same driveway but is located at back of property. There is a permanent tenant in residence there.

We loved our housesit at Postmans Ridge. I was very sad to leave the charming Pepper who was such a great ,easy and at times amusing companion. The birds and chickens were also very easy to look after. Hopefully,they start to provide a few more eggs after they finish molting!!🫠 April left us a very helpful easy to read guide and was always very easy to contact if we had any further queries, updates etc. Hopefully we meet again in the near future. April's house was lovely to stay at for the week. The surroundings are lovely and peaceful. Plus the convienence of Toowoomba being only 15 away. Would be happy to housesit for April again in the future.
