Our home

Come and house-sit in lovely O'Connor/Lyneham with two affectionate little dogs.

Low maintenance, well-lit ground floor unit in a small apartment complex in the leafy inner-northern suburb of O'Connor. One bedroom, one study and two bathrooms including en-suite. Open plan kitchen, dining and lounge with a small lawn, outdoor furniture under cover, and a raised bed garden.

Low maintenance, well-lit ground floor unit in a small apartment complex in the leafy inner-northern suburb of O'Connor. One bedroom, one study and two bathrooms including en-suite. Open plan kitchen, dining and lounge with a small lawn, outdoor furniture under cover, and a raised bed garden.

Underground parking spaces are available, but you can trot off to catch the tram or hop on your bike to get to the city, or closer by are local cafes and bars 10-15 minutes walk both in Lyneham and O'Connor.

Most important are our two dogs Lily (6 years) and Beau (3 years). Lily was a rescue and retains a nervousness while outside the house, while Beau is more rambunctious. They are very affectionate towards people and have their routines at home which we are happy to go into detail about.

They can be left at home for periods of 7-8 hours at the very most, without issue, as long as they have had a good walk.

They sleep inside, in crates that they are well-trained for. Requirements are normal feeding (fresh food in the morning, bikkies at night) and walking (30 minutes a day or more if you can, and some play recommended).

favoriteWhat we love about our area

Quiet, leafy and convenient in the inner suburbs close to the city but still in the suburbs. We are walking distance (10-15 mins) to both the O'Connor and Lyneham shops, which have bars, small supermarkets, cafes and bakeries. 10 minutes to the tram or right next to the bike path into the CBD.

Our pets

Lily, a six year old female mini Fox-Terrier and Beau, a two year old male Jack Russell-Chihuahua cross. Both are very affectionate to humans.

They need at least half an hour of walking every day (once or even twice a day if you like). They can be left inside for 7-8 hours (absolute max!) if care is taken to tidy up and take them for a good walk beforehand. Walks require some care as we are working through some reactivity issues with Lily, but it is straightforward enough with guidance.

Over this short period we have a preference for someone willing to use teeth wipes on their tiny teeth once a day - it is a minor struggle but only takes a few minutes for each.

Minimal - We have a raised garden bed outside that will need regular watering, and the lawn will need a small amount of tidying after the dogs' use. Inside, we have a handful of pot plants that will need watering.

Stephen and Georgia were great to housesit for. Comfortable well equipped apartment and lovely to be right on the bike/walking trail. Lily and Beau are lovely well behaved dogs in the home, however Beau does require an attentive eye. Taking them for walks can be quite challenging but none the less we loved all the love and snuggles they gave us. Communication was great throughout the housesit and Stephen and Georgia are friendly and welcoming 😊
We really enjoyed taking care of Lily and Beau. They are very fun and affectionate. We had a very lovely week together. Georgia and Stephen were very thoughtful and generous with us. We always felt very comfortable 🐶🐶❤️
I had great pleasure looking after little Beau and Lily at Stephen and Georgia's cosy place. Thanks to their owners who are very intelligent, highly organised and structured in a positive way, the little ones are well-mannered, sweet-natured, disciplined and follow commands well. They love lots of affection and cuddles and Beau even loves talking to people in his own language! We felt really welcome in Stephen's and Georgia's home. Great neighbourhood close to Canberra and a lovely cosy vibe. Hummer and Jax are a delight to care for and they where best friends with our 4 year old son : ) Great experience.
These pups were an absolute pleasure to look after . We didn't want to hassle the owners with updates every day, and these boys were the ideal flatmates so no need. House was clean and plenty of notes for the pups so we knew what was expected. Very accommodating hosts and house is close to everything in Canberra so long as you have a car. Dogs were amazing with young kids.
