Our home

A unit/cat house sitter is required from the afternoon of 28 August 2026 through to 4 September 2026

You will have your own bedroom and use of remaining areas including courtyard and a car bay within the small block of 4 units which are all owner occupied. Indoor plants will probably need one small watering during this period. Similarly the potted plants outside the front entrance and bedroom windows will require one watering unless there’s been good rainfall at this time.

The property has wifi NBN service, gas stovetop cooking and hot water and electric power otherwise!

There are two goldfish in outside pond in the courtyard which are fed lightly once every morning.

My cat is an older vintage of 14 years who is quite shy and has definite rules about how much and how often she wants to be petted! A daily brushing of her coat though is guaranteed to win you brownie points 🎉. Together with Treats (her favourite word).

She’s a beauty and likes to have her food served twice a day…..a tip sheet is provided. She has no other apparent health issues although she has a monthly appointment with her vet for her arthritis medication and a nail trim (not scheduled during this time). She is known to ask for a treat about lunchtime to keep her going but it’s not essential!

Her name is Chicka and her photo is attached. She’s very interested in the comings and going’s in the units and spends much of her day 💤.

The unit is close to shops public transport and is 10kms from the CBD in Perth.

You will need to provide a recent and clean police report to be considered for this assignment. It’s preferred that you do not have other people to stay overnight unless explicitly discussed and approved in advance with me.

Chicka and the fish were very easy to look after. Was a delight to look after Chicka, a very sweet cat. Marilyn was friendly and welcoming me into her home. The unit is in a great location close to the city and shops. Would love to look after Marilyn’s home and pets again!
I had the pleasure to take care of lovely Chicka for 6 days and I would do it again anytime. Homeowner Marilyn is very friendly and generous and even let me stay with her a few days before the actual housesit so that I could save on accommodation costs. I felt very welcome and communication was very good throughout. The cat is very easy to look after and is happy to be petted and given affection throughout the day. I house-sat for Marilyn for her 10-day interstate trip. Marilyn's home was fully prepared for my arrival, and the sit itself was low-maintenance and straightforward. Chycka is an easy-going, friendly cat, and made good company throughout.
