I love animals and housesitting and offer quality carefree time away from your home, knowing that everything is being looked after just as you would want. And on return, you will arrive to a home that is sparkling and clean, groomed and polished - with happy and content pets to greet you.

Over the years I have cared for large & small, young and active, as well as elderly dogs and cats, so understand the need for special care and attention, for all types and personalities. At times this has included maintaining medical treatments and managing VET visits and follow-ups. So comfortable with whatever situation may arise.

I am flexible and can work around your needs. My house sits have included large homes, small cottages and apartments. Inner city, semi-rural and regional. I also have international experience in France. Dogs, Cats, Fish, Chooks, Frogs, Gardens, Swimming pools, Mail, Property management, Art Collections - I have experience with it all.

All my clients have become good friends and regularly rebook me. The majority of my bookings these days are private referrals and return sits for long time clients. I have a preference for 1 month minimum sits, but with recalls I do sometimes accommodate shorter periods. As I do if I have gaps between longer sits.

Between 2011-2016 I was focused on locations in NSW from Sydney to Kurrajong, Bathurst to the Blue Mountains, Ballina to Brunswick Heads and many places in between. Between 2018-2024 I undertook a PhD at Macquarie University as a mature aged student. During this time I have managed many extended housesits in and around the Sydney region.. This afforded me sufficient time to attend to all of my clients domestic and pet needs between my reading and writing time whilst exploring some of Sydney’s most splendid locations.

In the past I've done sits in the Blue Mountains, Western Sydney, Inner West, with a preference for Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs, Lower and Upper North Shore. My bookings are usually a good way in advance and my services in demand, so if you're interested then let's arrange to meet soon.

In 2020, during the worse of COVID, a number of my pre-booked sits were cancelled as we all started to adjust to the new norm. Since 2021/22 I continued to support a few of my regular sits once restrictions started to ease.

More recently I have done three sits and about to take on a longtime Mosman sit over Xmas through to mid-January 2024 followed by another Cremorne Point sit for regular clients Maree & Graeme (and the delightfully independent cats Coco & Fang).

Over Easter I helped out Brad & Julianna in Manly with their two rescue cats Hector & Niklaus. As with many of my sits Brad approached me via the Aussiehousesitter site directly without placing an advertisement. Similarly, in Seaforth I was approached by Linda via the site to care for their elderly Tinka cat through July before i transferred to Vincent’s place in Bayview to look after Bruce & Inky. Then in the Eastern Suburbs through to October/November with a sweet Cavoodle Flo. In early May this year I was over to Mosman with Luna (lab) and sweet Marmite (cat) before returning to Potts Point & Flo and then back to another regular in Mosman. In May-June this I completed three housesits - two with feline care - in Mosman.

Kevin did a great job and his communication was excellent. the place was immaculate when I returned and the dog was happy to see me but expected him to stay!
Thanks Kevin for your care of our precious Tinka and our home! We had peace of mind for the entire 4 weeks. Kevin communicated regularly and took care of all the bumps along the way! From administering pills to sorting out the vacuum cleaner! Many thanks and we hope to see you again soon!
Kevin is an extremely good communicator, left our house tidy and had watered our plants when needed. I found him reliable and am very happy to recommend him to others.
Kevin house-sat our home and older dog Lulu in 2019. We found Kevin reliable, responsible, respectful, and trustworthy. Kevin looked after our fur-baby Lulu's above average needs. She is anxious and takes daily medication, an inside dog with separation anxiety. She cannot socialise with other dogs so daily walks and managing interactions with other dogs is important. Kevin did a wonderful job housesitting for me and I recommend him highly. I have an 18 yo cat and I was very concerned about leaving her in another persons care, as she is quite demanding and requires medication twice daily. Kevin read all my notes on her needs and attended to her with great care. I arrived home to a happy cat, an absolutely perfectly clean and ordered house, gardens watered , and so kindly things in fridge like fresh milk, eggs, fruit and nice wine. We highly recommend Kevin as a trusted and dependable housesitter - he did an excellent 4 week house sit for us looking after our 2 cats over Dec/Jan 2019. He won over the affection of our usually fussy cats and we returned from holiday to find them well groomed, very relaxed and healthy. Kevin house sat for us last year for nearly four months .He did a wonderful job!. Our rescued cat was beautifully cared for and was in a secure and happy state when handed back to us, Not an easy job as she has been severely traumatised in her youth. Our house was immaculately maintained and in fact was cleaner when Kevin finished his sit. then when we handed over to him. Kevin is an intelligent thoughtful person who we found to be highly reliable, in fact should we go away again for ... Kevin Lucas recently looked after our home and animals while we were in Europe from May-July 2016. We have a cat and two dogs, one of whom was quite elderly. We spend a lot of time at home and were very anxious to find a sitter who would be able to devote sufficient time to our animals. Kevin did a fantastic job.
