Being able to have more of a local experience, as we look after pets.
I also work from home, so I would be able to have stability in my day, and the presence and company of fur babies, would be much more fun than working in a hotel room or park cabin. Hubby can more easily pack a guitar to play.

We are a couple and empty nesters. A retired teacher and musician, and a bank manager. We are at a stage in life where one is retired and the other planning to in the next few years. As we love pets and travel, we have made the decision to hold off owning our own fur babies for the next few years. Recently we have been pet sitting for family and friends, and are presently fostering a cat. It has made us realise that we can still enjoy the company of fur babies, while providing other ... Since our last furbie died a few years ago we have been travelling a bit more, but have done pet sitting for friends and family predominantly. Presently fostering a gorgeous ragdoll whose owner passed away. The spoodles and ragdoll have all taken over our bed in their time with us! I agree with them … it is super comfy.

Our children have 2 spoodles which we have looked after on several occasions, anything from weekends away for up to a month. We also have my sister in law who I have pet sit for when she went away to Canberra (she lives in a sub penthouse in East Melbourne and I stayed at her apartment). We looked after 2 dachshunds for our neighbours across the street for a fortnight when they travelled to Townsville. We did not stay in their house given they are just across the road, but gee those pups were messy and we were cleaning floors morning and evening …. iykyn. We have also looked after a cousins border collie for a couple of weeks while they headed to Thailand. Presently fostering a Ragdoll who’s owner passed away till we can find their forever home.

We have a primary residence in Melbourne. We are pet sitting in July this year and then travelling August/September. We would love to find suitable house sits during the year that enable us to get away a bit. We are flexible based on “life”.
