67, Retired

Retired banking and travel professional recently returned to Australia after sixteen years. Looking to both reconnect with Australia and keep busy while waiting on my wife to arrive.

favoriteWhy I love house sitting

Enjoy the satisfaction that comes from being entrusted to caretake the property of others and hopefully look after appreciative pets. The opportunity to explore new locations and neighbourhoods and spot birds new to me are also an attraction.

Banking and travel professional. Lived and worked mainly in Australia until 2009 when I left for overseas work in Singapore, Dubai, and Phoenix AZ before starting semi-retirement in remote rural northern Thailand with my wife. Last twenty years worked at a executive/director/VP level.

In Thailand built a property and established and operated what is now one of the highest guest rated homestay aka B&B in the country (yes, the country).

Have returned to Australia to reconnect with the country and catch up with siblings, children and grand kids. Wife will join me here once her property is sold and business wrapped up.

Prefer a quiet and private life and proximity to nature. Very keen bird watcher. Prefer regional over busy metropolitan locations. Non-smoker/gambler, very light social drinker.

Dog lover, particularly Labradors but can manage smaller excitable dogs. Cats tolerate me. To date have not lost any chickens, fish or a garden or house plant.

Review

We couldn’t have asked for a better housesitter than Ross! He looked after our dog Milla, our 7 chooks, the vineyard, and all our plants beautifully while we were away. Communication was excellent throughout — Ross kept us updated with photos and little messages, which made us feel completely at ease. We came home to a tidy house, a happy dog, healthy plants, and a fridge full of fresh eggs! 🥚🐾🍇 Ross is reliable, thoughtful, and clearly loves animals and nature. We would absolutely welcome ...
