Hi, we're Melissa and James, a Brisbane-based couple who have been living the full-time housesitting lifestyle for the past 18 months, and loving every moment of it!

Melissa is from Brisbane and James is from Bristol, England, which means we have strong ties to both Australia and the UK. We travel back to England regularly to spend time with James's family, and have even done some housesitting over there too, so we truly understand the value of finding someone you can trust to look after your home and beloved pets while you're away.

We are lifelong animal lovers with broad experience across dogs of all shapes and sizes, as well as cats and everything in between. Dogs have always held a special place in our hearts - we love nothing more than daily walks, playtime and plenty of cuddles - and Melissa grew up with cats, so we're equally comfortable with our feline friends too.

Prior to housesitting full-time, we were the go-to pet sitters for friends and family, so caring for animals and their homes comes very naturally to us. Over the past 18 months we have cared for a wonderful variety of pets and properties, and we approach every sit with the same level of care, respect and attention to detail that we would give our own home.

We're an active couple who love long walks, spending time outdoors and exploring new places. We value slow travel and genuinely enjoy living like locals, immersing ourselves in the neighbourhood, supporting local shops and cafés and making the most of everything an area has to offer. Your home won't be sitting empty; it will be lived in and well looked after.

Melissa runs her own online executive assistant business and works from home full-time, which means there is almost always someone in the house during the day - great news for pets who love company! James works Monday to Friday as a boilermaker, so between us your pets will have attentive, caring company for the vast majority of the day.

We are clean, tidy and conscientious, and take real pride in treating every home we stay in with the utmost respect. We would be truly honoured to care for your home and your precious pets, and to give you complete peace of mind while you're away. We look forward to connecting with you!

Melissa and James have been absolutely fantastic, we came home to a house that looked exactly as it did when we left, the plants (especially our orchids) are thriving, and our dog looks very chilled. I'm pretty sure he was spoilt, the photos we got while we were away showed him looking really settled and comfy. They also managed to deal with a pool that that needed water to be emptied out. There was a bit of a hiccup with our travel dates due to a medical emergency, but Melissa and James ... I would have no hesitation in reccomending them, and we are making plans for another trip away, and hoping they'll want to housesit for us again. Melissa and James were fantastic. Everthing was so effortless, from meeting them both, explaining all our requirements and introducing our girls. They took great care of Poppy and Rosie and our home was so clean and tidy on our return. We would definately reccommend them and hoping to use them again if they are available next time.

They went above and beyond in every way while caring for our three pups, making sure they were happy, comfortable, and well-loved the entire time we were away. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such capable and caring hands. Melissa and James were fantastic house sitters. Completely reliable & trustworthy, we were sure our house and pup were well looked after. The house was clean when we returned which made things very easy. Oscar was very upset for a few days after they left! Would absolutely use Melissa & James’s service again. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.
Melissa and James were more than we could have asked for. We needed pet care quickly and for a long period of time and they were so quick to respond and communicate. Our house was left clean and tidy and more importantly our dog was so happy. He had an absolute blast with Melissa and James and got all the love and cuddles he deserves. I got regular communication and updates throughout our trip. Would have them back in a heartbeat. Thank you guys 🙏
We're so happy with the way Melissa and James looked after our dog as well as our home. This is our first time using Aussie house sitters and we'll be back for our next time we're away. Melissa and James were such a pleasure to deal with and made the process easy for us. They communicated well while we were away and our dog was well looked after. We arrive home late and they even stated back to make sure our dog was looked after into the evening. Thank you again, Melissa and James!
Melissa and James were excellent communicators. They met all of their commitments and did an excellent job looking after my dog. They also left the house in excellent condition- clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend.
