We are Matt & Alanna, a kind, respectful, and outdoorsy couple with a love for animals. With plenty of experience in house and pet-sitting, we’re excited to provide our services. We are based in Newcastle (NSW) but flexible to travel to most locations around Aus.

We are Matt & Alanna, a kind, respectful, and outdoorsy couple with a love for animals. With plenty of experience in house and pet-sitting, we’re excited to provide our services. We are based in Newcastle (NSW) but flexible to travel to most locations around Aus.

Our current work in international development and humanitarian sector has us traveling overseas a lot. This gives us a wonderful opportunity to offer our house and pet-sitting services in between trips. Whilst housesitting Matt is either working from home or not working at all, so lots of time to give love and attention to your pets and we are happy to cater to any additional needs around the house or yard.

I would highly recommend Matt and Alanna to house sit. I met them on a video call first, and they were so easy to talk to and discuss the needs of my dog Waldo. They were understanding and interested in how to manage his separation anxiety. When I returned it felt like I hadn’t been away….the house was just as I left it and Waldo was so calm and content.
Great to know your house is looked after while away. Chickens looked very happy on our return and the coop was lovely and clean!
Alanna was a great house sitter. Very friendly and very caring for our dog Grizzy, who is prone to separation anxiety. On our return everything was clean and squared away. We appreciated the thank-you note and chocolates. Would use Alanna and Matt again.
Matt and Alanna were wonderful house sitters. We came home to a very clean house and a happy dog. They communicated throughout our holiday and sent photos of our beautiful Loki. He looked very happy in their company. I would gladly have Matt and Alanna come back to mind our dog and house in the future. Alanna and Matt and their two tween children are highly recommended. Our old but delightful Boston Terrier was obviously disappointed to see us retur!n! For over an hour he refused to even approach Lyn,, his favourite. He has now kindly accepted us. Our home was left perfect, pots all alive, pool clear, bedding washed (even though we said not to bother), chairs up for our regular cleaners and a beautiful welcome home note with a vase of flowers and gifts. alana and matt kept house and pets safe and cared for, really lovely people,also left a welcome home gift for us... i can highly recommend them, and hope to have them back in the future....kristine
Matt and Alanna looked after our dog Macchi for 8 days In October 2025. They looked after Macchi well, including giving medications twice daily and daily walks, and even took him on a few outings to the beach! They provided daily updates and left the house spotless. We will happily have them look after Macchi again!
Matt & Alanna were great house sitters We met with them prior to going on holidays twice to go over everything in regards to the house & our pets. They sent us a couple of updates while we were away which put our minds at ease and we came home to a spotless house. Would highly recommend using Matt & Alanna to look after your home & beloved pets if you have any while you go on holidays.
Matt and Alanna are absolute legends! We asked them to house-sit for our two cockatiels and one whippet, Winston… then added a second, 16-week-old whirlwind whippet puppy, Audrey (yes, an impulse buy and yes, she’s VERY lively, recovering from a broken toe, and not 100% toilet trained!). Some people would have run for the hills, but Matt and Alanna handled it like absolute pros. Not only did they manage our chaotic duo of whippets flawlessly, they communicated excellently every step of the ... MoreMatt and Alanna are absolute legends! Relieved any stress of caring for the dogs and house while we were away. Friendly and clear communication throughout the whole process. Would definitely ask Matt and Alana again for any future needs.
Matt and Alanna are lovely people who made us feel very comfortable from the first time we made contact with them. They flew interstate to look after our two golden retrievers for just over 3 weeks. Communication in the lead up to the sit was easy. They arrived a day or so before we left which made for an easy "handover". Matt and Alanna were wonderful guests and housesitters. They took great care of my two cats and left the house in good shape. I wouldn't hesitate to invite them back for another housesit.
Alanna and Matt were incredible. A very lovely couple with great attention to detail. They provided so much love and attention for my babies and were extremely tidy. I would highly recommend to those in need of house/pet sitting.
Could not recommend Matt more! He did an incredible job of looking after my dog Maxi and left the house and yard looking better than I left it. His communication was great and I’ll definitely be asking him to housesit again during my next trip. Thanks so much Matt!
