We are retired Canadian professionals living our retirement plan: spending our Canadian winters in Australia! We have always loved to travel, exploring Europe, Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Singapore, Bali and Australia! We also love animals, especially cats and dogs, and think combining pets and travel through house-sitting is an excellent idea!

Until our senior kitty passed 5 years ago, I had always had at least one cat and often two, including two that lived to be very elderly. We have had cats with special needs, including allergies, thyroid and kidney issues and are therefore comfortable with administering medications, fluids and special diets. I grew up with a border collie who also lived to be quite senior, but not having a lifestyle conducive to having a dog, we happily enjoy everybody else's! We have more than twenty-five years experience owning homes and cottages, including gardening, fish pond and swimming pool experience. We have also helped out family and neighbours with their yards, homes and pets.
We have Australian experience as well: we were lucky to live and work in Sydney over 15 years ago (Bob as a QA engineer and Calie as a NSW program and policy officer), travelling this unique and varied country every chance we had.
We have absolutely loved our adventures in pet-sitting through both Aussie Housesitters and Trusted Housesitters! We spent December 2022 - April 2023 pet-sitting in New South Wales and Queensland; January - April 2024 in Queensland and Western Australia; Dec.2024 - March 2025 in Southeast Queensland and Sydney and Dec 2025 - April 2026 in Gold Coast & Woody Point, Qld and Sandringham, Vic. We have loved the many different dogs, cats and cheeky conure parrot that we’ve been lucky enough to have as companions. Already booked to return to Gold Coast, Brissie and Cairns in Dec 2026 through mid-March 2027, but open for suggestions on where we go from there!

Bob and Calie were excellent house sitters. We communicated regularly prior to the sit which provided reassurance that all was on track. At the commencement of the sit we spent a pleasant few hours together of orientation and having a meal together. By the time we left we felt that the dog and the house were in good hands. Throughout our holiday we received regular (almost daily) updates and photos, which is what we had requested. Our main priority was the care of the dog. He was looked ... He was looked after like a king: 2 or 3 walks per day, regular outings to the beach, and other adventures. On our return we found the house clean and tidy and staples in the fridge. We spent another few hours together before saying farewell which provided a seamless handover. We highly recommend these lovely people.

Loved having Callie and Bob stay at our place on the GC. Dogs very happy and healthy on return, plants watered, house spotless. Would be more than happy to recommend and happy to have them return as well. Bec j
Calie and Bob were lovely and the cats were well looked after. Our older cat required medication twice a day which they took care of without issue. The house was clean and tidy on our return. Highly recommend.
Calie and Bob were amazing all my pets loved them. They communicated with me every couple of days, I didn’t worry once about the pets. The house was immaculate and notes were left for me as we were delayed and couldn’t do a handover at the end of the holiday.
Calie and Bob took exceptional care of our fur babies while we were away. We received updates and photos and the dogs looked very happy and healthy. The house was clean and tidy and plants had been well cared for upon our return. We highly recommend Calie and Bob and would invite them back in a heartbeat.
We cannot thank Calie and Bob enough for looking after our home and fur babies. Regular updates and photos made our holiday so much more enjoyable knowing everyone was happy and well cared for. Receiving a photo of our very timid cat who usually hides in the wardrobe happily out in the same room put us all at ease, he doesn’t usually like other people! Coming home to a clean house was lovely. Highly recommend and hope to see them again for our next holiday.
We couldn't have asked for better pet sitters for our 2 dogs. Calie and Robert took great care of them and kept us updated with information and photos. Not only did they care for our dogs but the house and garden were well cared for. We would certainly invite Calie and Robert back.

Calie and Robert were fantastic house sitters. The house was spotless on our return. Our dog Ryder enjoyed her daily walks, and we were lucky to get regular photos. We would not hesitate recommending them.
Calie and Bob were great to have stay George and the birds were well cared for and the house immaculate upon our return . We would love you to stay again if returning to Australia please message me and you never know the dates just might line up .
