We are a married couple in our mid-40s who love animals, travelling and learning new things. We have been house-sitting full-time for over 4 years, caring for a variety of animals.

We love spending time with the animals and getting to know their individual personalities. House-sitting also allows us to see beautiful Australia and meet many interesting people along our travels.

We are a responsible, trustworthy, married couple in our mid-40's who began house and pet sitting in 2017, and in 2022 decided we'd like to do it full-time in order to travel and look after beautiful animals.

We both grew up around dogs (ranging from large to small), cats, fish, birds and hamsters and also had our own pets in our adult years.

We both grew up around dogs (ranging from large to small), cats, fish, birds and hamsters and also had our own pets in our adult years.

We have done many house sits in various settings ranging from suburban areas to farms, looking after a variety of animals from dogs, cats, birds, chooks, goats and sheep. We have also taken care of elderly animals, having to administer medication, as well as looking after puppies.

We both work remotely and will be home during the day to keep your pets company. We'll care for them and treat them as our own, giving lots of love and attention.

We'll also care for your home, keep it neat and tidy, and do all necessary chores, such as walking your dogs, (we have also taken cats for walks in the past) water the garden and plants, take out the rubbish, give pets medication, collect eggs from chickens, etc.

John is also experienced at looking after pools and maintaining gardens and lawns.

We're keen to hear from homeowners who would like us to house-sit and care for their pets while they travel.

We have also looked after different kinds of cats of different breeds and ages. In some instances we have also had to administer medication to pets, which has not been a problem.

We have also looked after a few farm animals, including chickens, sheep, and goats, feeding, ensuring water troughs are full and the overall well-being of the animal taken care of.

Elenor and John were outstanding house sitters. Our dog Millie was cared for exceptionally and the accomodation was left spotless.
We enjoyed looking after Millie, who is an affectionate and obedient dog. 'The Bales' has all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay and the property has a beautiful view over the ranges. Thank you for this house-sitting opportunity.
Eleanor & John looked after my dog Chewy and our house for nearly 7 weeks. Eleanor was in constant communication, giving me updates on Chewy. They even took her to the vet, when a cut wouldn't heal. I greatly appreciated their kindness towards her. Eleanor and John looked after the house and garden, and it was nice to come home to both being clean and tidy. I would definately recommend then for future sits.

Eleanor and John were lovely to communicate with and very conscientious sitters. They worked with the neighbours to prepare the house and garden for the cyclone. The dogs loved them; no anxiety and they were in great shape. The neighbours and I would love to have them back if the opportunity arises.

John and Eleanor were excellent! We recommend them unreservedly. They looked after the dogs extremely well and did a great job with the lawns despite the inordinate amount of rain. It was lovely to come home to happy, healthy dogs and a spick and span home. Thank you Eleanor and John. Our holiday was stress free because you were looking after things at home. Most appreciated, we would definitely have you back!
Eleanor and John were excellent sitters for my house, dog and garden. They arrived when promised and while i was away let me know that all was well back home. My dog was very well looked after and clearly enjoyed having walks, dinners and plenty of attention. And my home was spotless when I arrived home. Many thanks.

This was the third time that John and Eleanor house sat for us. There really isn’t much more to say that I haven’t said in past reviews of them. I feel the best review is that we keep having them back! And they’ll be back next year too. They’re wonderful house sitters, and most of all our cat Sadie absolutely adores them. We absolutely trust her with them, as we trust our house to them. They’re also really lovely people!
Eleanor and John did a really great job looking after our home. They kept us up to date, both before and during, their stay. They looked after our 2 cats, 2 fishtanks, plants and pool and left eveything spotless on our return. I can definitely recommend them as housesitters. Thank you!
During my recent holiday, I entrusted my dog and plants to a pair of house sitters. I was very happy with the experience, as it was clear that they really loved animals. They took excellent care of my dog, following his routine and sending me regular updates and photos. They also cared for my plants and kept my house tidy. Their communication was great, and I felt confident leaving my home in their hands. I highly recommend Eleanor and John to anyone in need of a dependable and caring service.
Eleanor and John looked after our home and dogs wonderfully. We came home to happy fur babies and a house that was cleaner than when we left! Both Eleanor and John are friendly and kind and I would definitely recommend them if you're after house/pet sitters.
Eleanor and John did a great job looking after our home. They cared for our 2 dogs and sent us photos of them. They also looked after our chooks and fish and kept the garden well watered. They left the pool and house very clean. I can highly recommend them as housesitters.
It is so good to go away knowing that our pets and our house are in very good hands and this is how we felt with Eleanor & John. Communication was great and pictures sent of the cats (looking very happy). We arrived home to everything as it should be and two happy, relaxed cats. Highly recommend this couple.
First time using Aussie House Sitters and we started with the best I would say. Our request was to care of our fur/feather babies and we got more. John and Eleanor communicated quickly and whilst away, frequently. They made us feel so comfortable the day they arrived which made it easy to leave. We know they made sure our babies were loved whilst we were away as when we arrived home to the dogs and bird it was like oh well you guys are back but we didn't miss out on anything as we had John ... We could NOT have asked for better house sitters! Eleanor and John sat for us for just over 5 months. I was a little anxious about leaving my house (and cat, Sadie!) with a sitter for such a long period. Eleanor and John were very easy to communicate with before the sit, and put my anxieties at ease. Their arrival process was very easy - they even took us to the train station. During the sit they checked in regularly, including sending me regular photos of Sadie, which I really appreciated. Eleanor and John took great care of our animals and our house! Their communication was great and they sent us updates/photos of the animals. We would have no hesitations having them come back to stay whilst we are away.
Eleanor and John house sat for us over the busy Christmas period and it was such a relief to go away knowing they had everything under control. They are both very capable and kept us updated on how the animals were going while we were away. Communication was excellent both before and during the house sit, the pets were happy and the house was exactly as we left it. Thank you so much guys! I would have no hesitation in recommending Eleanor and John and would welcome them back at any time :)
Eleanor and John looked after our house, pool, dog, cat, 4 chickens whilst we were away. Everything was well looked after and the animals were very happy. We would happily recommend Eleanor and John for further housesits.

Eleanor and John are a lovely couple. Our house was kept neat and tidy and very clean. The plants were watered and the pool was the cleanest it's been in weeks. And most importantly, our cat was very happy and didn't even seem to miss us! I would highly recommend them and hope to get them again in the future.
