favoriteWhy we love house sitting

Getting our doggie and cat fix but looking after pets is not essential. To be honest, we prefer to be 'off the road' so to speak during the busy Christmas school holidays and doing nice housesits is a perfect alternative for us.

We have been happily married for 48 years and are both fussy home owners and responsible, trustworthy adults. We don't intend to be offensive, but we wouldn't be interested in housesitting unless your property is clean, tidy and well-presented both inside and out. We are non-smokers & have never taken drugs. We live in Mackay but leave North Queensland every summer in order to get away from the unpleasant high humidity. We are 'motorhomers' who love playing golf and are happy to do a bit of ... Kev and Jen were amazing house sitters. Their communication was excellent, and when we arrived home, our house was cleaner than when we left—it absolutely sparkled! Our house plants have never looked so healthy, and even the chicken coop was cleaner than when we left. This was our very first house sit, and we didn’t hesitate to book Kev and Jen again. Kev and Jen were great house sitters. They looked after our animals extremely well with an unexpected vet visit thrown in. Our house was in pristine condition. We would definitely have them house sit again.

Kev & Jen took the opportunity to meet and talk through the house and pet sit prior to me going away, which I consider is important for all, including Lucy the Cav. Lucy, once overcoming excitement of new visitors, settled well and was certainly content on my return. The home was well maintained and left clean and nothing out of place. Kev & Jen were very pleasant couple, well versed in house sitting, and would welcome them back and happy to recommend them as house / pet sitters. Also ... Kev and Jen, were fabulous sitters. Our house was left cleans and tidy and our pets were content and well cared for. Would definitely have them back house sit. Thoroughly recommended.
As this was our first time using Aussie house sitters we were extremely nervous. I truly can not speak highly enough of Trev & Jen. Excellent communication. Even a couple of pictures sent while away, Very happy pets, Lawns mowed and an immaculent home to come home to. Thankyou.

Kev and Jen were wonderful ! Communication was good throughout and they took great care of the house and animals. It was great to come home to a beautiful clean house. I would not hesitate to book them again.
It is so lovely to come home to a sparkling house and everything organised. Kev and Jenny were exceptional housesitters and took such care of our home and our elderly hen! We have a fern house and lots of desert roses than need tending in the dry months and Kev and Jenny tended them well. Communication before the sit was great and we met up earlier for a chat. Kev and Jen house sat for us when went on a well needed Vacation. I could not recommend this couple enough. The came and visited before the sit to check our home and two spoilt furbabies. Arrive the day we left and received continuous updates of them sitting on there laps and being very comfortable with them. The takes so much stress out of all of us as they are in there own environment. Arrived home to a immaculate home and very happy furbabies I would highly recommend kev and jen and am ... Thank you Kev and Jenny for looking after our home and gardens. We knew our home was in great hands when we met Kev and Jenny the day before we left. They were polite, friendly and eager to learn about how to water our gardens. They communicated with us when needed while we were away. They left our home spotless inside and out. We'd have them back anytime!
This sit was a disaster. Apparently only satisfied with an empty paddock to park van. Ridiculously unfair (and undeserved) reviews. Despite being asked to keep the back door key separate in case they shut the front door with keys inside I still ended up with a $400 locksmith call out bill. I normally have a don’t say anything if don’t have something nice to say policy but their review is really uncalled for,. If I just wanted the dogs fed I could’ve got a friend to do it. The truth is that we did keep the back door key separate. The lock failed. The lock on the front door also failed. The locksmith will confirm that we did nothing wrong. On Jodie's instructions, we took Leia for a good walk every day so it wasn't just case of getting a friend to feed the 2 dogs. ... MoreThe truth is that we did keep the back door key separate. On Jodie's instructions, we took Leia for a good walk every day so it wasn't just case of getting a friend to feed the 2 dogs. We arrived after Jodie left so how could we possiby say it was fine when there were no photos of the property on the advert. Photos of property on Google Maps are completely different to the overgrown front yard that we turned up to. Sometimes the truth hurts but Jodie needs to be publicly honest about the poor state the property was in.

Kevin and Jen were lovely house sitters. They took great care of our pets and went out of their way to help with the watering on our property. They left the house in an immaculately clean way which was really appreciated. Would definitely recommend them for a house sit :)

Kev and Jen were an absolute pleasure to have at our home. We were able to holiday stressfree knowing that the house and pets were in safe hands. Everything was perfect when we got home, animals all well and plants alive. Kev and Jen were easy to talk to and let us know what was going on at home but the contact never imposed on our trip away. We would definitely be happy to have them back and can highly recommend.
Kev and Jen were absolutely fabulous! We have a very exuberant husky, two cats and a budgie and all were very well looked after and cared for. They were wonderful to engage with; especially as we were on short notice and their responsiveness just helped put us at ease that our fur-babies were going to be well looked after whilst we were away. We would absolutely welcome Kev and Jen back anytime and still remain grateful for their kindness and caring toward us, our pets and our home.
