I live in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia and have been retired from secondary school teaching for 15 years. I love travelling and caring for other people's pets.

I miss having pets as they have been a large part of my life. House and pet sitting allows me to fulfill two passions - exploring other places with furry friends as companions. I want you to have peace of mind whilst away, knowing a trustworthy and caring person is looking after what's dear to you.

I have been a sitter with an international house and pet sitting organization since 2016 and have 192 five star reviews, which include 80 in the UK. I can easily email you the link to verify this. My availability calendar takes into account my sits with the other organization as well.

I am reliable, trustworthy, responsible and very much an animal lover with a wealth of experience.

I am definitely a cat lover, having had cats for most of my life up until 2016. Dogs have also wrapped their paws around me and I love them too. I've cared for different breeds of dogs but will only look after a maximum of 2 dogs; many cats; chickens; guinea pigs; fish; and birds. Dogs and cats need to be spayed/neutered though.

I take my responsibilities very seriously as a sitter and can promise your pets will be looked after with love and care by me and any routines they have will be followed.

I take pride in my own home and garden and will treat your home the same way I look after my own, keeping it clean, tidy and secure. I would appreciate owners leaving a clean, tidy and welcoming home for me.

I had a wonderful sitter through Aussie House Sitters back in 2015 for 7 weeks when my sister, Libby, and I travelled to the UK. She cared for my 17 year old cat so well and my home was immaculate on my return. I like to think I provide the same service to owners as she did.

Read moreI've been pet sitting in Australia, New Zealand and the UK since 2016 and currently have 192 five star reviews with an international sitting site where I am one of its leading sitters. Apart from the two years due to the pandemic, my pet sitting is mainly in Australia and the UK. As you can imagine, I have cared for and loved so many amazing pets - different breeds and ages of dogs and cats, though I don't look after puppies; chickens, geese, ducks; beautiful Australian birds and fish. Some have required medication but it depends on what that involves as to whether I would agree to doing it. I have had to take pets to the vet. I expect owners to have an account set up at the vet's for this reason.

Pets bring me so much joy and I'm blessed with my lifestyle.

Margaret & Libby were brilliant. As soon as I met them I realised there would be no issues. My cat, Missy, doesn't take to strangers very well but Margaret had her voluntarily sitting on her lap the first night. My place sparkling when I returned and the garden was doing well (which is an achievement given the lack of rain.) Margaret & I kept in contact while I was away & kept me updated on Missy well being. would unconditionally recommend Margaret & Libby for any house sit.
Margaret and Libby were were absolutely wonderful sitters and pet carers. We are new to house-sitters, but these ladies helped make the process smooth and trouble-free. It gave us such peace of mind to have the utmost confidence that our pets and home were in such good hands. They even managed to cuddle our cat (a feat never achieved by strangers). These ladies are organised, kind, friendly, accommodating, interesting and tidy! In fact, I think I might arrange our future holidays around ... Marg and Libby were such wonderful house sitters. We felt very assured our dog Larry would be looked after and spoilt. The sit was only for one night, but Marg insisted they would bring their own linen due to only being one night. We were very thankful saving the extra washing. We would definitely welcome marg and Libby to house sit for us again.
Margaret was a dream to have stay at our home! She was incredibly communicative, staying in touch before and during the week we were away. We returned home to a very clean and secure home, garden tended, patio swept and super happy little cat! She left us a little gift and Flowers! We should have given the flowers to Margaret! I hope you choose Margaret to look after your home and pet(s). She is just ... the very best.
Margaret took care of our cats and house for 4 days and at very short notice. She is a lovely lady, totally professional and a real animal lover. We felt totally comfortable leaving her to take care of things. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing their homes and pets cared for.
Margaret and her sister Libby were absolutely brilliant. They went out of their way to make us feel at ease about being away from our pets and home. The house was left immaculate and their attention to detail and communication was excellent. I would highly recommend them and they'd be welcome back anytime. Thank you to both of you.
