We need a house sitter

Northern Victoria - Bendigo

Claire

The house is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom premises on 2 acres.

We have a fortnightly house cleaner. This arrangement can continue in our absence if you would like it.

Gardens would not require extensive work, some regular weeding and watering of recently planted young trees and shrubs, as needed. There would however need to be ongoing mowing kept up to date with provision of our battery operated whipper snipper, petrol ride on mower, and also gardener who comes every 2-3 weeks. Any and all gardening work you’re able/willing to do would be greatly appreciated.

We’re 6kms from the town of Colbinabbin. It’s our nearest town with a lovely pub with welcoming atmosphere and great food. There’s also a hardware/feed shop in the town, plus our community owned and run general store/post office. Colbinabbin is also part of the Victorian Silo Art Trail, with 6 beautiful painted silos to enjoy when you’re out exploring and adventuring in the area.

Our property is less than 50kms from Bendigo and just over 50kms from Echuca.

I have two pet sheep. They’re friendly, love their food (hay) and one ewe particularly enjoys a head scratch too. They will need hay kept up to them (I’ll leave enough hay to see them right while we’re away), and their water supply topped up too please.

There are also a few yards of chickens. They’ll need daily feeding with grain and pellet mix. I will provide instructions for care of chooks and their feed requirements. Also the drinkers need to be kept filled please, and eggs collected each day. There will likely be very few eggs because it’s winter with shorter days and the chickens tend to be in moult and therefore off the lay.

Care of the animals takes me usually no more than an hour each morning. It is not an arduous task.
