Hi sitters, We are excited to finally be able to take the kids and vshow them our home country of South Africa. We have 6 well behaved dogs that need some love while we are away. There's 5 Kelpies (working dogs) & one GSP X pet. They require daily feeding and 15 min of throwing the ball for them. We also have 3 chickens that would supply you with eggs in exchange for food and water. Minimal watering of veggie patch & indoor plants. We live on a sheep/cattle farm just outside of Mortlake (small town with pub & IGA) & 35min to Warrnambool (Great Ocean Road). Also only an hour from the Grampians NAT park. The house has space for families and although the dogs are used to young kids, they can still be a bit rough if kids are not used to bigger / active dogs. No farm duties required. Dates are flexible with a day or so. Please reach out, thanks!

Lovely location. The kids had fun on the trampoline, exploring, playing cricket, riding bikes, & scooters. Getting the kids away from technology. We all enjoyed the serenity and taking care of the Tala, Dingo, Simba, Ness, & Tiger. The communication from the start wasn't great on both sides. Louise (& Heinrich) : Just for the record, I know the house was clean as we had a cleaner in the day before we left. We always say to use any perishables in the kitchen & ask that if you do use and finish any staples to please replace it. We have had many house sitters and have never had any concerns about cleanliness ... MORE

It was wonderful to be accepted to undertake this house-sit. We had planned to be in the area anyway, so this stay was extremely timely. The dogs ( 4 kelpies and one German Shorthaired Pointer) were great fun and full of energy. Feeding time was fun to watch with 5 dogs devouring their dinner simultaneously. Unfortunately our time was cut short due to Covid restrictions, but we at least enjoyed one week before leaving. Thanks again Louise and Heinrich.
