We need a house sitter

Melbourne - Yarra-Dandenong Ranges

Sarah

Hello! We are Sarah and Ross and we are lucky to be going to Europe for 4 weeks over July-August! We have a family member able to look after furr-babies for the second half of our trip so only need someone for the first half however open to discussion should you prefer a longer stay.

Firstly, the furr-babies --
We have two desexed boys - a fluffy, black, domestic indoor-only cat (Basil) and a black pug (Doc). Both around 7 years old and have grown up together.
Basil is a pretty typical cat, he loves sleeping at the base of the bed, lying in front of the fire or in sun beams, boxes, toys and pats. He can be a bit feisty also like most cats,
Doc loves food, his toys, to be warm and cuddling. He can handle only short walks (usually twice per day). He can get vocal about passers by and animals on the TV but he's all bark and loves people and other friendly dogs and cats.
They are both toilet trained, eat meals at the same time and no special needs.

Secondly, the home --
We have a mid century home on a big plot of land surrounded by gorgeous Mountain Grey Gums. Sherbrooke forest is within walking distance and other amazing walking areas nearby. Public transport is very nearby however we are on a gravel road with a fairly steep driveway. This is a great opportunity to spend a few weeks in the hills on a very typical "hills" property. Utilities are included and we have stable internet, full kitchen, BBQ, Coonara fireplace, split system, two cosy bedrooms, a home office and two bathrooms.

Ideally you are a patient, caring, cuddle-loving individual or two people. Someone who works from home would be a great fit. You should have your own car and be comfortable staying on a large property in a home in the hills. Please we request you only use the fireplace if you are familiar with doing so safely and always keep the door closed. We have a stocked woodshed. We do not have netflix or a smart TV (we run a hdmi cable from our laptop to the TV to stream shows), we do not have a dishwasher and we are on tank water (which has never run out on us). The pets require twice daily meals and Doc requires twice daily 1km or thereabouts walks. Basil requires his cat litter tray to be cleaned out daily. Really, they are very little work. Mostly, they need attention, company and love. They are used to having someone home most of the time so will get anxious if you need to be away all day every day. If you work in the city Mon-Fri this is probably not for you.
We would want to meet you in person at our home ahead of the trip so you can meet the boys and see the house. We will leave detailed instructions for the house and pets. We will be available via whatsapp for updates and would love to receive some photos from time to time as we will miss our boys!
