I've been very fortunate to have had pets my whole life until the last year. I've grown up with cats, my eldest living to be 21 years old! I also had hamsters and rabbits for many years (flemish giant and mini lop who lived free range/toilet trained throughout my house) and fostered a dog (golden retriever) for a couple years. I've been house and pet sitting with my family since I was very young, mostly for dogs in various homes in Canada and Barbados (caribbean). As an adult I've house/pet sat cats and dogs with some snakes thrown in there too around Victoria and Queensland for various lengths of time. A bit about me:
I'm a very lighthearted person who thoroughly enjoys playing outside ~ hiking, exploring, swimming, adventuring, as well as nesting in a cozy home with an animal friend. My pets are part of the family, call me crazy but I speak to them like they understand (because they totally do!). I'm a dance enthusiast and love to hula hoop! It's pretty normal to hear me singing a tune. Being of service in the community is an important value of mine, that's why I volunteer at a local organic food co-op and have spent the past few years studying to become a therapist/coach for women. I don't smoke or drink, and live a very healthy lifestyle. I love opportunities to try new things and meet new people ~ travelling the world is a huge passion of mine. I grew up in Canada but have lived and travelled in Australia for 9 years now! I've called Cairns home for the past 18 months and happy to help locals out - though am also open to sits around the East coast. Your home & pets will be treated with a great level of care and respect!
