  • We were caretakers for multiple farms during 2022: living and working on a poultry and cattle farm in Moranbah (Qld), and caretaking a 30,000 acre cattle property in Hughenden (Outback Qld). In 2023, it saw us finishing a 5 month caretaking gig at a van park/animal sanctuary. In addition, we lived and worked on a Merino sheep station (approx. 10,000 sheep) in Central West NSW, housesitters at a 100ha hobby farm/homestead in Victoria for 3 months which finished on 20 August 2023. Duties have included but not limited to feeding chickens, geese, dogs, pigs, alpacas and donkeys, collecting and sorting eggs, water runs, grading, mustering, welding, diagnosing pump faults, running working dogs, maintaining lawn, gardens and pool areas. As we are registered on multiple housesitting sites, you will not see all of our history/references here but can be supplied on request.

We are Glenn, Rachel, Isla, Jaxon and Ellie. We sold our house and left our old lives behind in January 2022 and have been living, travelling and working on the road ever since. We live in our 22ft Jayco Journey Outback caravan which has a shower and toilet combo and can go completely off grid, if needed. However, we would love access to park it up with power and water, if available, or staying in your home if okay with you, would be appreciated too.

Glenn, is a fully licenced electrician, and originally from Mackay. He has been working in his trade since he left school but is keen to learn new skills and work in different industries. Very mechanically minded, welding and diagnosing pump faults is a breeze.

Rachel, a criminologist by trade, grew up on the Gold Coast. However, since their daughter was born, she has been concentrating on her small online administrative business.

Isla was born in 2020 and is a shining light to anyone who meets her and has gained many grandmas since our adventure started.

Our family would not be complete without our two dogs. Jaxon, the border collie, is 13 years old. He is a social butterfly and loves meeting new people and other dogs. Ellie, a Staffy x is 5yo and is a very laid-back, no-nonsense dog who loves a cuddle or four. Both are desexed and get along with all animals.
