37, Childrens Books Illustrator, Writer, Educator
Hello, I'm Gizem!
I'm a non-smoking, reliable, animal lover working as a freelance graphic designer, childrens' books author and illustator.
I grew up in Istanbul-the city of stray animals and animal lovers. Starting from my childhoold, I have cared for many cats, dogs, ducks, rabbits, birds, fish and snails! I don't believe in ownership when it comes to building a relationship with a furry friend so I would prefer to say I have had many long-term relationships with different types of pets and stray animals.
I have also been lucky enough to grow up in houses with gardens and I hope to be around plants all my life!
I work from home, get inspiration from nature and pursue a quiet and healthy lifestyle. I've recently arrived back to Australia from overseas and it is an excellent time for me to do housesitting before l find my own place to settle down.
I love going on long walks, play games and be active with your dog. I am also a 'cat pacifier', if a stray cat happens to be nervous, scared or uneasy they instictivley find me to calm down. Well, at least this is the story of my last 4 years overseas with 6 cats who decided to live with me after our first encounter :) I'm happy to let your pet friends sleep on my bed if that's what they prefer, and I will do my best to comfort them if they require a little extra attention during your absence. And I will update you on a regular basis about your furbabies's wellbeing and as soon as possible if there's any news that you need to know around the house.
Living things are my priority and will always come first to me. I 'll love your pets as they are and care for your home and garden as though they were my own. I am environment consciouss and l always do my best to reduce any kind of waste (energy/ food/resources).
I'll never let a stranger in your house. But if a good old friend of mine is around I would like to be able to feel comfortable enough to invite them over for coffee or dinner. While living in your home, I'd like you to be comfortable with me feeling comfortable.
Please don't be shy to let me know about your pet's unique traits; for example if their toileting habits may change during the times of transitions. It's important for me to know about the little challenges I might come across to beforehand so that I can take precautions and also better handle the situation while looking after them.
If you have any questions or would like to get to know me better, I'd be more than happy to organize a video or a phone call.
