Liv & Jack

Hej/hey!

We are Liv and Jack, a travelling and hiking couple from Sweden (Liv) and the U.S (Jack), 30 and 26 years old. Liv is a social worker and Jack works within outdoor retail.

We are, from late April 2024, starting a year of working and travelling in Australia. We both have a passion for hiking and travelling and met hiking Te Araroa in New Zealand. We now hope to discover all of the amazing things that Australia has to offer, both its nature and meeting people (... and animals). Liv did a few days of house and cat sitting in New Zealand when healing from an injury which is how we had our eyes opened to this amazing concept.

We both have experience of living with and loving animals as we grew up surrounded by dogs and cats. Liv also has experience with special needs animals as her dog Dingo had medical conditions that required a variety of different medications, notably daily shots. Because of this she is a self-proclaimed master of tricking animals into accepting medicine.

We are both responsible people with experience working with cleaning/housekeeping. Liv also has chronic allergies that are best kept under control by clean surroundings, diet and by abstaining from alcohol. Because of this we keep our surroundings clean and tidy and also don’t drink/smoke. Other than wanting to spend time exploring Australia together we hope to live in a place where Jack, who is a writer, can have the time and space to pursue this. We are both calm individuals who like our surroundings (or home) to reflect that. These are some of the main reasons why we are attracted to house sitting in favour of hostels/other shared accommodation as well as why we think we would make excellent house sitters.
