I'm a professional person who decided 2023/24 was the time for a sea change. I've been in private practice and lecturing students in healthcare for many years and was ready to step off the 9-5 hamster wheel to initially devote time to my writing and publishing and I've now plunged into further study in the form of a PhD. I've done house-sitting in the past and absolutely loved it, so I have decided that this is the perfect time to adventure again. I prefer a quiet place, ideally close to nature or water, however, city/suburban is ok too as long as its q quiet spot, so I can have time to concentrate on the writing, study, and creative process. As much as I love the company of people, it is marvellous to have just the company of animals, or time alone, while I'm getting my thoughts together, so your pets become my new family while I'm with them, and your home will be in the very, very, best of care. I love animals of all shapes and sizes and have a cat and chickens at home (which are devotedly cared for by my son), so I'm used to always having animals around and waking early to let the chickens out to wander the backyard. I'll be on the property writing most of the time, so I'm very quiet, and your home will be looked after impeccably with the greatest of care and respect (see reviews). I'm also an avid gardener, ornamental and vegetable, so you can be sure your gardens and lawns will be perfectly cared for at all times. Karena was the ideal sitter for us, she is conscientious and provides detailed updates when requested. Karena took great care of the house plants, veggie patches and even mowed the lawn manually on two occasions even though we had left money for sitters to use the services of our regular lawn guys. Most of all, Karena treated our home with respect and has left it spotlessly clean. Would not hesitate to recommend Karena to anybody looking to leave their home in very safe and caring hands.
I can't thank Karena enough. When I got home the place looked better than I left it! She cared for my big dog so well, took him out every day for a walk and swim, sent pictures and even bought him bones to chew on. Her communication was amazing. She mowed the lawns and took care of plants. I cant express my gratitude enough. Would have her back in a heart beat!
On aussiehousesitters, we were fortunate to locate Karena to look after our two large dogs and horse, as well as a considerable undercover plant collection, while we enjoyed our overseas holiday. Karena also kept us well informed including posting a cash card that "someone" forgot to take.
After six weeks, we returned home to an immaculate house and very spoilt animals.
