Hi I’m Kristen.

Over the years I have done house and pet sitting for many friends and friends of friends and some family also. Additionally, I grew up having pets: cats, dogs, plus farm animals, chickens and sheep.

Animal/house sits have included several multi-week stints with dogs ranging from active Border Collies that required multiple walks per day, to smaller (less active) breeds including Cavoodles, Goldendoodles and Cairn Terroirs- all of which went of daily walks. All housesits have included pets that live mostly inside. I have also looked after several cats throughout the years, which included cleaning out litter trays and walking cats on a lead- it was a very funny experience with many tangles haha. All pet sits required maintaining the inside and outside of the homes- ie gardening, cleaning etc.

Longer stints of just house sitting have been for family who have gone away for months at a time and have included looking after the house, ensuring it is maintained, inside and out. Watering a large garden (including a very thirsty veggie patch), mowing lawns, and tending to inside plants.

I grew up on a farm in rural South Australia, before moving to the city (Adelaide) for several years (many years ago). I then moved overseas for many years and found a love for wild places, with hiking and nature at my doorstep. Having been back in Australia for a few years now, living in SA, I have decided that I need that feeling again… this is why I have fallen in love with Tasmania as it offers so much beautiful nature, that is so close and accessible. Last year I completed my Honours year at Utas in Launceston and am happy to this year be able to concentrate of getting out and seeing what else Tasmania has to offer.

I work from home as a freelance Graphic Designer, so am home most of the time, however there may be days when I will need to head off for meetings or work from an office, but they should be few and far between.

As mentioned, I love hiking, walking, beach days, as well as watching some tv, reading a good book, or knitting yet another scarf (I should really learn something more complicated haha). Also, I do love socialising and meeting new people and also hanging out with friends and family.
