Hi, my name is David Simojoki.
My wife Carmel and I are very experienced house sitters, dating back to 2005. We have also had our own house cared for on many occasions and know what is important for families going away and leaving their home and loved ones behind. We have been members of AHS for 15 years.
We have recently relocated to Melbourne to be closer to family but very much welcome opportunities to live in and explore the Victorian countryside. Unfortunately due to grandchildren commitments and owning our own two chihuahuas, Carmel is not able to accompany me on every house sit.
If sitting for you, my priority is to spend as much time as possible "at home", give your fur babies lots of love and attention and keep your home neat and tidy. While I may spend short times exploring the local countryside, I am more interested in enjoying the country lifestyle, bushwalking and relaxing, so your pets will never be left for long periods.
As I have recently retired from teaching, I have greater flexibility to adjust my times should you need to change yours at short notice.

It's was very reassuring for us that everything was under control with regular updates and ease to communicate. The animals were happy and the house left beautiful & clean... thanks again we are very appreciative for your help and glad you enjoyed your stay.. enjoy your house back and I'm sure your pups are glad to have you back home too...

David was an amazing house sitter, he had a great holiday and also looked after our house and pets perfectly. We felt very comfortable having David in our space, he was considerate, and left the place as he found it! We would love David back anytime and would highly recommend him to others!

David was wonderful for our house sit, the dogs loved him, he looked after the house so well, everything was neat and tidy and the chickens were well cared for, everyone was happy so we were too would definitely have David to stay again !

He even weeded some of the garden that we hadn't got around to doing- it was a nice surprise to come home to. David also assisted our neighbour when some of her sheep escaped. They kept our house in immaculate condition, communicated as often as was necessary ( and sent photos of our cat) and made us feely entirely comfortable leaving our cat and home in their care. From the moment we spoke on email to the first time David and Carmel visited our property to meet they made the experience easy & were a pleasure to communicate with. No rating David and Carmel looked after our house and dog whilst we were away for 5 weeks. Our house was very well looked after and our dog Sandy still misses them . Cannot recommend them enough, very lovely people and kept us up to date via email whilst we were away.

No rating David stayed with our cats and house over a 3 week house sit in August we returned to a house that looked like it had been gone over with a fine tooth comb very clean and tidy it was like we never left. Our pets were well looked after and I would let David stay anytime thanks so much for looking after our pets and minding our house. If you ever needed a house sitter I am highly recommending David thank so much.

No rating David looked after our furbaby Nixon over XMAS period. He was very easy to arrange details with and the best part was he loved Nixon and walked him everyday even took him to visit Davids family. Nixon was so happy I am sure he didn't realise we weren't home. If we were to go away again I would be more than happy to ask David to look after our house and Nixon. Our house was left clean and everything cared for. David is a great housesitter!
