Hello my name is Sara, and I am very happy to be here on Aussie House Sitters :) I have been caring for homes and pets since October 2017, with many repeat bookings over the years.

Laughter, well-being, and happiness are such important things in life, and house sitting is such an enriching and enjoyable thing to do!

I am aware of how important it is to be able to relax and feel confident that our pets, gardens, and homes are being well cared for while we are away. It is my great pleasure, therefore, to assist home and pet owners to feel happy and relaxed while they're travelling, safe in the knowledge that their homes and pets are receiving expert care and attention.

I truly enjoy meeting homeowners, and respect and appreciate being welcomed into their homes in this way. I'm happy to say that I've made some wonderful friendships during my house sitting journey.

Pets bring such happiness and joy, and I enjoy getting to know them and their personalities. I admit that I adore cats and having their company. I also love dogs, and particularly those that are happy to chill out and relax while I’m working and writing.

Owners have commented that their pets seem to gravitate towards me, and want to sit close to me - or on me! - soon after we are introduced :) Even those that are shy, are often happy to come close to say hello.

I pride myself on providing a high level of care and expertise, and maintaining a clean and tidy environment. My house sitting experience includes looking after pets, homes, and gardens of many different sizes. Pets I have cared for include fish, cats and dogs, and chickens to horses.

When needed, I am practical and hands on around the home and property, and proactive with pet's needs and health, including giving medication. I have also looked after pools and mowed lawns with regular and ride-on mowers.

I enjoy many different locations, from neighbourly suburbs to remote areas, and properties with acreage. I especially appreciate house sits that are peaceful and close to nature, or that offer beautiful gardens, together with great internet and mobile phone reception.

Whilst house sitting, I provide clients with online and phone consultations. Sometimes there have even been times when I’ve been able to assist homeowners and their families and neighbours during a house sit.

I find that working as a 'digital nomad' in this way fits in very well with house sitting, as both the pets and I enjoy having each other's company when at home. I also write, so having a relaxing home environment with pets is wonderful. In this way, I maintain the income that enables me to continue to travel and provide house and pet sitting.

I lived in Melbourne and the Adelaide Hills, after arriving in Australia from England in 1995 and starting our family. Now that the children are adults, house sitting enables me to house sit in locations near to them as well as in areas that I particularly enjoy including Victoria, South Australia, and Sydney and the Southern Highlands of NSW.

My background includes hobby farming with farm animals, building several gardens from scratch, and hosting a romantic bed and breakfast, keeping it spotless and warmly welcoming.

I am so glad that I began this journey of house sitting in 2017, with the wonderful support and encouragement of my children and friends. I feel blessed that it continues to bring me joy and wonderful experiences, and for this I am truly grateful!
