Healesville VIC

We are going away for a week in October and are looking for someone to look after 4 large dogs, an old horse & 2 alpacas. We are leaving early morning on Tuesday 8 October so it would be preferable if you could come to stay the day before.
The dogs are boisterous longhaired weimaraners & they are definitely house dogs. As two of them have had very little contact with children we don't believe it would be fair to them to have housesitters with children. As we are retired they are not used to being left alone all day every weekday, so we ask for sitters who are only working part time or from home. Four big dogs are a pack & although they are trained & generally well behaved they will need someone who is familiar & comfortable with pack dynamics. The dogs are aged 9, 6, 4 years and 6 months.
The dogs are exercised with supervision in the paddocks twice a day & the horse would need feed, possibly some hay & light grooming once a day & the alpacas only need feeding in the morning. One of the dogs is quite nervous meeting strangers, so it would be great if you could come to visit before to make sure you are all comfortable together.
There are also a few pots & ferns to water if it's dry.
We live on 12 acres of mainly cleared sloping land about 3 minutes drive, or 25 minutes pleasant walk from the centre of Healesville, overlooking the RACV golf course, with two supermarkets, shops, many cafes & tourist attractions including the Healesville Sanctuary & only just over an hour to the airport or city. It is an older timber house which is not modern, but very comfortable, as most of it has been extensively renovated over the last two years, particularly the main bathroom and kitchen, with a log burner in lounge, gas coonara in family room, as well as gas hydronic heating throughout the house, Wi-Fi NBN, BBQ & good mobile phone coverage.
We realise taking care of 4 large dogs, a horse, alpacas and a property is a big responsibility, so we offer a daily fee of $50 as a small bonus.
