I am semi-retired, non smoking and single, with excellent reviews from over six years of continuous housesitting experience.
I am exploring Australia at a leisurely pace, spending time in locations along the way in order to learn about them. I have travelled extensively and always find that the best way to experience a place is to live as a local for an extended time period, rather than 'holidaying' in a hotel.
I am an animal lover, but my lifestyle is not conducive to pet ownership. By housesitting with animals, I get to experience the joy of pets when I can. As I am an avid walker, dogs will not be short of exercise. I've had my own cats, dogs and donkeys in the past and worked at a vet surgery during my university years, so I am comfortable with most aspects of pet handling.
I used to publish The Owner Builder magazine and now offer freelance services, working from my laptop wherever I have a good internet connection. I don't need much in the way of luxury or gadgets - wifi is a distinct advantage; apart from that, I am self-sufficient. I am pretty fastidious about neatness and more than happy to treat your home in the manner it deserves.
I am double vaccinated against COVID, and I have a National Police Certificate (name and address check).

P.S. I view the relationship between myself and home owners as one of mutual respect, care and consideration, which includes respecting one another's privacy. Lynda was the perfect house and pet sitter. She was organised, professional, experienced and best of all, she absolutely adored our precious dog, Zero. During her stay, Lynda send regular photos and videos of her walks and explorations with Zero and we texted often. Lynda was an excellent house and pet sitter for our border collie and elderly cat. Lynda spent time grooming them every day and when we returned they looked better than I'd ever seen them! Our garden was thriving and the house was spotless. We also appreciated how well she communicated and how willing she was to do/check things for us while we were gone. I can definitely recommend Lynda and wouldn't hesitate to have her sit for us again.

We were extremely happy with the way Lynda looked after our house and our dog Lemon, while we were away travelling.
Being an old dog Lemon requires special care and attention, and he was clearly very happy and comfortable with Lynda.
Also, Lynda took great care of the house and left it in an ideal condition.
Overall, it was an excellent experience, and we would absolutely love to be able to work with Lynda again!

Lynda has been our preferred house-sitter for the last 5 years and her most recent housesit was for almost 8 weeks whilst we were in Europe. Her positive, common sense approach, attention to detail and cleanliness are exemplary. Her attachment and attention to our 19 year old cat, Simba, over the past few years has been amazing. We knew that Simba was close to the end but Lynda took on the extra duty of his final days whilst we were gone and was responsible for his burial and other details in ... Lynda sent us regular pics of our very contented cat. She's old and fussy and Lynda accommodated her needs and quirks very well.

We loved Lynda as a house-sitter, she looked after our 1 year old Labradoodle for 4 days. She walked him twice a day and spent lots of time with him. We had a few house rules for the dog and Lynda followed these all up as well which was great. After we came home the house looked exactly as how we left it (super clean). We got a photo and update of how he was doing from her everyday. We would love to have Lynda back to house sit for us again.

Lynda responded very promptly to my ad and messages. She was very organised and a pleasure to deal with. Pearl clearly enjoyed a nice quiet week with Lynda and everything was very neat and tidy upon our return! She very helpfully took care of some washing of linens etc we didn't finish before we left. This was our very first experience with using a sitter for our house and pets but Lynda put us at ease with her down to earth attitude. Benny was a very happy puppy ,he got plenty of walks and outings to his favourite places and a few more besides! Pippy looked fatter than when I left so I think she was well fed ,the garden was flowering and the newly planted grass was still alive and well.
The house was clean and tidy but best of all my 2 furbabies were happy little vegemites.

Lynda took great care of our cat and of our house. Our cat looked happy and well brushed when we came back. It was wonderful to come home to a clean house and it was very much appreciated that the used sheets were washed and clean again. While we were away we were kept up to date with pictures of our cat to see how he was doing. We would be happy to have her back another time.

Lynda was the perfect house and pet sitter. She was organised, professional, experienced and best of all, she absolutely adored our precious dog, Zero. During her stay, Lynda send regular photos and videos of her walks and explorations with Zero and we texted often. Lynda sent us regular pics of our very contented cat. She's old and fussy and Lynda accommodated her needs and quirks very well.
The house was clean and tidy and a joy to come home to. All our plants had been watered and were thriving, even though Lynda reckons she's no gardener.
I would have no hesitation using Lynda again or recommending her.
