We are a couple who retired early and travelled slowly for three years around Australia in a caravan. As you can see from our references, we did a number of house sits whilst travelling. Robert also did a few by himself more recently. (Sometimes we house-sit together & other times just the one of us).
We have settled in Hervey Bay, but having found a base again, we are looking to travel to areas we didn't get to or explore fully during our long trip. (We no longer have our caravan). So distance from here is no problem.
We have been home owners ourselves for many years and pride ourselves on keeping a neat and tidy house and maintaining a nice garden. We would treat your place as if it were our own.
We are very active, in excellent health, and non-smokers. We are willing to look after a few animals if required, and take them for walks.
Robert, left the house in a clean and tidy state, respectful of our standards; the garden was tended likewise. Our pet dog, Henry, seemed relaxed and well fed. Communication with us and the neighbours was excellent. I would be very happy to have him house-sit for us again and recommend him to anyone considering such an undertaking.
I was very nervous having someone house and pet sit for me but from the first conversation with Robert on the phone my mind was put at ease immediately. While we were away, he gave me updates on how my dog was doing and I came home to a happy dog, clean house and the sheets washed and on the line. I would definitely have Robert house sit again and would highly recommend him to anyone else needing a reliable sitter. Thanks Robert!
Melissa and Robert are really nice people and great communicators. They kept us up to date with what was happening at home. We came home to a clean home and the garden looking well cared for. There was a little confusion about the date we were coming home, but they changed their plans to fit in with us. Thanks Mel and Rob.
Mel and Rob looked after everything very well.
They arrived on time and our dog Millie was exercised and kept safe and she was our main concern.

Just want to say a big thank you to Melissa and Robert. They looked after our chickens, the house, which was spotless on our return, and even did some gardening which wasn't initially part of the plan. Would certainly recommend them. Reliable and good communicators. All the best to you both.
Melissa and Robert we fantastic house sitters for our house / 2 x Pets and pool. We met for the first time and handed over the house and gave instructions which they listened to and followed. They were friendly and was a shame we were flat out packing etc as could have easily chatted for longer!
They gave us updates when we were away. We also had some ants move into our pantry and they cleaned out the pantry and fixed the ant problem too! THANKS!

We were most fortunate to have Melissa and Rob stand in for us as adoptive parents for our slightly over loved Boxer during the month of October 2022.
They did a wonderful job looking after our home and slightly rambunctious pet.

I knew from the moment Robert and Mel made contact on the website that I had struck it lucky. They are just the loveliest couple and agreed to come and meet me and my dogs prior to my departure overseas. Melissa and Robert cared for our property for 5 weeks during July/August. We live on 17 hectares and have an extensive native garden, vegetable garden/orchard and also some cattle, chickens and geese. All of our animals thrived while we were away and we received regular updates on their welfare including the odd photo! Melissa and Rob sat our home for 3 weeks. They kept the house clean and did their best to keep it aired in very trying conditions of constant rainy days. They are a very friendly couple and fitted in well with us from the first meeting. Melissa kept us informed every few days that all was good at home other than it was always raining. They provided dinner for us when we arrived home and Rob gave us informative advice on tree and fire management.

Mel & Rob are a Fantastic couple and did an Excellent job with our challenging 30 acres. With 2 demanding Race Horses and cows and chooks to feed they also found time to water my seedlings and left our house brilliantly clean. We Highly Recommend them for any House Sit.

Mel and Rob looked after our 20 acre property for a week. They were extremely reliable in communicating with us prior to the sit, and embraced the challenge of looking after our horses, sheep, dogs, cats, and guinea pigs during an extremely hot dry period. We felt very relaxed to go away and returned to a house that looked like we hadn't left. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.
Melissa and Robert have been taking care of our home and animals while we took off for a much needed holiday.
They arrived the afternoon before we left and set their caravan up. We went through the things that had to be done and what animals required feeding and watering.

Melissa & Robert stayed in their own caravan, with use of the house bathroom/laundry at our place over the XMas Period whilst we visited family elsewhere. They cared for & fed our 2 dogs & sent photos to us while we were away which was lovely. On our return everything was lovely & clean & tidy & they even weeded some of the gardens which I had been meaning to get to for ages. This was a lovely surprise.
