This was a question Anthony asked me when we were returning from his birthday long weekend diving trip in 2015...
Howdy!!
I'll keep it short and sweet... I'm Camila, Australian citizen, born in Brazil and my partner Anthony is from the Hunter Valley NSW... activities we love are diving, hiking, travel and nature!!
In a nutshell, we've been on the road since October 2016 and have no date to end our trip... we have traveled so far the outback NSW (Darling River Run-greatest sunsets seen till now), beautiful VIC (state we keep on coming back to), Tassie (what an amazing state!!), unforgettable NT and stunning SA. In November 2019, we decided to move across the pond and see what the kiwi house sits were like, and what originally was supposed to be a 3-6 months stay, ended up becoming a year and half adventure (yes, we all know what 2020 was like!!)!! We returned to Australia early February 2021 to spend sometime with family in NSW, before resuming our 'Oz Adventure'!!
As Anthony works remotely for a US company, house sitting provides a lovely nomadic opportunity to spend some time in one place and enjoying your local lifestyle.
We have been housesitting for 6 years now and cared for dogs, cats, goat, sheep, cattle, deer, chooks, possums and birds... we are tidy (if you can call my cleaning OCD that!!) and caring (one of the dogs is storm traumatized - a lot of TLC required!!)... when camping, we've always had the motto to leave the place you stayed better than when you arrived. You will find you home the same way (or cleaner) than when you left.

There are not enough Words to describe just how fantastic Camila and Anthony are.
They are an absolute delight to meet and took such wonderful care of our farming property and all of our animals. They're genuine affection for our two dogs was plain to see in the photos that they sent through most days. Nothing was too much trouble and they are just such a fantastic couple to communicate with. Camila and Anthony were fantastic! They took amazing care of all my animals but especially Maggie May, who obviously thought they were the bees knees!
I came home to a pristine house, despite the awful wet and cold winter they had experienced, and it was probably cleaner than when I left.
Camila was an excellent communicator who contacted me twice a week with detailed updates, photos and videos. When there was an issue with Maggie's leg, she was straight on to it and dealt with the vet and ... MORECamila and Anthony were fantastic! Camila and Anthony were amazing House Sitters. They came to meet us and our dog Loki prior to the date of the house sit. The communication was great and updates onLoki as well as the care. The home and yards were left immaculate and very clean on their departure. Camila even made a trip to our vet to pickup ear drops for a pre existing periodic complaint for Loki and followed a care plan to ensure he overcome the complaint. I was not disappointed. Camila communicated daily and although I wasn't remotely concerned this was very reassuring. We received monthly updates leading up to our trip and every few days we received up dates and pictures of our fur babies while we were away. Taka our pup had a wound that needed cleaning and creaming while we were away and they did a great job, also kept us upto date with his healing. Camila and Anthony came and house sat for us and to look after our two dogs. They were absolutely wonderful from the very beginning. Communication was outstanding,... pictures were sent of the dogs obviously being very spoiled and loved. They tended to the gardens for us and kept our flowers alive and looking lovely. When we came home, the house was clean and tidy. (probably cleaner then before they started the sit) We would highly recommend them to anyone and would be more then willing ... Wow! I got home last night to an immaculate house, smiling garden, happy aviary birds and a lovely home cooked meal.
My three dogs were SO well looked after and obviously loved and I got photos, videos and reports on their goings on nearly every day which was just lovely. One of my dogs is in ill health and they took such great care of him, checking in with the vets and administering his drugs.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Camilla and Anthony for any housesitting position.

When we first met Camila and Anthony we immediately felt at ease. They are a lovely couple, our home was immaculate upon arrival, our fur baby, JoJo, was content and ready to hop into the car with them and leave us behind. We really appreciated the care that Camilla and Anthony took of our house and animals. It was very hot in Adelaide during their house-sit, but they kept the garden looking good. My neighbour commented that they were the only house-sitters she'd ever heard of who used a leaf blower!
Our hot water service also gave up the ghost the day before we left, so they had to deal with plumbers working in and out of the house over three days doing what proved to be a very problematic installation. ... It was an excellent experience. From the first contact Camila corresponded with us regularly until she arrived. We found that Messenger on Facebook was a very good way to correspond especially when we were overseas.
Camila was thorough in making sure we had all aspects of the sit covered, which was great.
She kept in contact often and sent us lovely pics of the garden and our cat.

We got regular updates, photographs and videos to keep us informed of how things were going, we could tell by ... This was our first time having our house sat, We were pleased to have Camila & Anthony mind our home, pets, and garden.
Communication was great and straightforward, they were punctual and pleasant, and seemed to genuinely love animals, in our case, two dogs & some chooks.
On arrival home the house was spotlessly clean, and cared for. The dogs, chooks and garden looked well.
Camila was more than happy to send a picture of the dogs enjoying their normal routine whilst we were away.
We can ... MOREThis was our first time having our house sat, We were pleased to have Camila & Anthony mind our home, pets, and garden.
Communication was great and straightforward, they were punctual and pleasant, and seemed to genuinely love animals, in our case, two dogs & some chooks.
On arrival home the house was spotlessly clean, and cared for. The dogs, chooks and garden looked well.
Camila was more than happy to send a picture of the dogs enjoying their normal routine whilst we were away.
We can recommend Camila & Anthony in the role of house sitters, and hope they are available when we travel next.

It was a pleasure to meet Camila and Anthony before the housesit began. I could see straight away that we were a good fit. Camila wrote down everything they needed to know and checked it with me . While sitting they communicated with photos and anecdotes .This gave me the chance to relax and enjoy my holiday. On my return the house had been cleaned well and the animals were relaxed and had obviously been well cared for. Camila and Anthony seemed to cope well with the fact that the property ... It was great to find that the fireplace had been cleaned and more wood brought in for me. All in all this has turned out ideal and I recommend them as housesitters and wish them well for their future sits.

Camila and Anthony were very thorough and thoughtful during their stay. They responded to messages promptly and took very good care of my dogs. The house was left cleaner than when I left it and firewood was stacked up ready for my late arrival home. I would recommend them.

There are not enough Words to describe just how fantastic Camila and Anthony are.
They are an absolute delight to meet and took such wonderful care of our farming property and all of our animals. They're genuine affection for our two dogs was plain to see in the photos that they sent through most days. Nothing was too much trouble and they are just such a fantastic couple to communicate with.
